“Lovely cottage, well equipped and in beautiful condition.”

The walks from the door were beautiful and perfect for our dog. At this time of year we appreciated how warm the cottage was.

The property

A delightful traditional cottage with modern fitting that is nestled between the mountains and the sea, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, in the pretty village of Dwygyfylchi, between Conwy and Penmaenmawr in North Wales.

The cottage is well situated for people wanting to explore this beautiful area.

The downstairs area is Open Plan with a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable sitting area with wood burner for colder nights.

A dining area is in the attached centrally heated conservatory.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, the other with twin beds that can be linked to make a super king size on request.

A luxurious shower room with walk-in shower and large heated towel radiator completes upstairs.

Outside at the front there is a south facing patio area and “Zen” garden with comfortable furniture to sit and watch the world go by, accompanied by the sound of the tranquil stream, that runs along the front of the property, amidst the beautiful mountain scenery.

At the rear of the property there is an outdoor eating area and a further raised patio area, accessed by steps, where you can choose to sit at the end of the day and watch the sunset.

The back gate has direct access to Conwy Mountain, and the outdoor “playground” that is Snowdonia National park.

Access on foot to Wales coastal paths, Upland(mountain) and lowland(next to the sea) route/cycle path, east to Conwy (up to 2 hours walk depending on fitness levels) or west to Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan.

Access to North Wales path and beyond.

Many other short walks in the area, through woods, over fields with amazing sea views to Puffin island, Anglesey and great Orme.

Suggest OS explorer OL17 to make the most of walking opportunities in the area.

The Fairy Glen pub is a 5 minute walk into Capelulo village.

A community children’s play area is in front of the pub.

The Gladstone pub is a 20/30 minute walk away with a great beer garden and magnificent sunset views.

The town of Penmaenmawr has a large selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and there are plenty of activities, including a golf course and bowling green both with amazing sea views, and beautiful long sandy beaches.

The sailing club in Penmaenmawr is well established and welcomes day guests.

On the promenade there are plenty of activities together with a beach café which is open most of the year.

There are also beach huts on the promenade you can hire by the day.

Conwy, world famous heritage site, with its medieval castle and walls, Conwy marina and quay, numerous pubs and frequent organised events is within walking distance, also on bus route if you want to leave the car behind.

The wider area is home to the Zip World Forrest coaster and tree top adventure centre, Zip world velocity including the fastest zip line in the world and bounce below with the underground trampolines stretched over former slate caverns.

About the location

DWYGYFYLCHI

Penmaenmawr 1.5 miles; Conwy 3.5 miles.

Dwygyfylchi is situated on the stunning North Wales coast between Penmaenmawr and Conwy. It looks out across to the Irish Sea, Conwy Bay, Anglesey and the Great Orme off Llandudno, where dolphins can sometimes be seen swimming in the distance. On a clear day, the Isle of Man can be visible. It is nestled at the foot of Moel Lys mountain, which offers many beautiful walks and vistas. A recently opened cycling track enables you to ride along the coast eastwards towards Conwy and beyond, or westwards towards Llanfairfechan. Located by the beach at Penmaenmawr is a Sailing Club and there is also the Penmaenmawr Golf Club; visitors are welcome at both. On the other end of the beach to the Sailing Club is a promenade area offering skate boarding, a children’s playpark, bowling green, promenade cafe and all-weather tennis courts, as well as some of the safest swimming in the area on a long sandy beach. Alternatively, you can drive (or walk) up the Sychnant Pass, from where there are many walking trails leading off. Further on, you can drive up through the beautiful Conwy Valley alongside the River Conwy. On the way to the Sychnant Pass you go through the charming village of Capelulo, where there are a couple of restaurants. This is a lovely area which provides a fantastic base for your holiday in North Wales
