“House was beautiful.”

Some extra maintenance and updating would improve people's stay no end. Kitchen utensils tired and some need replacing. Couldn't use the hot tub on two occasions as it needed to be treated with chemicals, although owner did come on a couple of days to do the chemicals it wasn't enough due to its near constant use by lots of people. Overall a lovely house and worth a visit

“A fabulous place for big family gatherings with plenty of space.”

There were 13 of us, everyone had their own comfortable bedrooms with en-suite facilities and were free to use the pool and jacuzzi day and night. Had some lovely meals around the large dining table and spent most evenings in the games room entertaining ourselves with board games and family chats. Julie the owner was a phone call away and responded instantly when calling her with any queries we had. We spent a week here, it flew by and we definitely did not want to leave.

A couple more bins in the kitchen would be useful so as to separate the recycling rather than constantly taking a trip outside! Would definitely recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

Thank you for your feedback after your stay We don't advertise Richmond hall as being disabled friendly. We do have handrails in the property in the appropriate places which are visible on the property photographs. We list every amenity and room on the Sykes website in detail and don't have any walk in showers. The crockery and cutlery is all to a high standard, we do have to make replacements occasionally for items that are broken during customer stays. Once again, thank you for your feedback. “We have just returned home from the most amazing holiday .”

Firstly its location is brilliant , there is so much to do in this part of Wales from beaches to castles to waterfalls and then The house is just incredible and met all our needs . It was perfect for our family of 19 people of all ages . The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal for everyone which enabled us to all eat together around the great big table .The pool and hot tub were lovely and warm and very well maintained . The sauna was an added bonus. So much to do from snooker , pool , darts , table tennis , table football, or relaxing on one of the many sofas around the home . The house was kept at a very warm temperature to say it was so cold outside , we didn’t need the many jumpers we had packed . Finally the owner Julie was lovely, nothing was too much trouble . From communication prior to the holiday to solving any small problems we had during our stay . We couldn’t recommend this highly enough for a family holiday , it was simply Perfect .

“What an amazing house to stay at!”

It’s so beautiful. We were met by Julie who showed us how the oven and heating worked, she showed us the sauna, pool and hot tub and she told us that if we had any problems to get in touch - we had a reply back within minutes when we did! The house was ideal for all of our friends to get together for a hen party weekend. I will definitely be booking this house again in the future x

“We have just had the most amazing weekend in this beautiful house.”

Julie the owner was there to greet us and explained everything we needed to know about the property. She is so friendly and helpful. It was a family celebration with 11 adults and 9 children. We all enjoyed the wonderful pool, jacuzzi and sauna. On the Saturday evening we had caterers DineaDesign,( recommended by Julie) who were very good and reasonable. Twenty of us sat comfortably around the dining table. We made full use of the games room playing snooker and darts and making cocktails at the bar. We can’t recommend this property enough. We will definitely be back.

“One of the best properties I have ever stayed at!”

Julie made us feel welcome straight away. It's a huge house as you can see from the photos but has a really homely feel and Julie made sure we felt comfortable straight away. She was available for any problems we might have had but we didn't! She explained how to use the sauna, pool and jacuzzi. There were tennis rackets, table tennis bats etc to use and pool table. It was perfect. Bedrooms are large, kitchen extensively equipped. Beds comfortable and exceptional cleanliness throughout. One of the best bits is that it's straight off the A55 so a very non stressful journey getting there, easily found by all. Local shops easily accessed for the usual milk run! If this is on your list of properties to stay at- I'd make it your number 1 choice!

“We were a party of 15 adults hiring for a 60th birthday celebration.”

Richmond Hall is a lovely period property in extensive grounds. Plenty of space for people to be together or enjoy quieter times. There was an abundance of equipment within the property together with two BBQ’s and many outside seating areas. The house was easy to find and is only a short walk into St Asaph itself where we enjoyed a lovely Sunday Dinner at the Plough as recommended by Richmond Halls owner Julie. Julie was helpful and informative when we arrived explaining the kitchen appliances, the sauna and the pool room/hot tub. She encouraged us to contact her at any time with any problems or queries but we had no need to do so. We would love to come back should the opportunity arise.

“We had a big family holiday here, ten adults and nine children .”

Wow what a place!!! The place is huge and so much room for everyone. The pool, hot tub and sauna was used everyday, some days twice. The kids spent much of their time in the pool, which is bigger than how it looks in the photos. We all loved the games room , again it is huge with loads of comfy sofas, pool and snooker tables , darts and a dance floor. Plus TV with sky (a real winner for the men as they could watch sky sports!!! ). And another amazing fixture is the bar, we all loved serving behind the bar, where there was a fridge, sink and plenty of glasses. Other than these frequented rooms there was one massive lounge and another lounge with a football table. Kitchen was massive too, with a table big enough to seat all nine grandkids. Plus a utility room with washing machine and dryer. Besides this the dining room has a massive table, enough seating for all nineteen of us. Everywhere was so grand. We had such amazing time, and felt no need to venture out, due to all the amenities provided. Outside was a huge area, with tennis court and again seating for all of us. The annex attached to the pool , leading into the house , was lovely too, where we could escape to, if wanted. Overall I’d hugely recommend this place to any big family wanting to spend special time together, but at the same time having space, if anyone wanted quiet time. Can not recommend this place enough. Julie the owner was so helpful and made sure we had the best time. Wish we could afford to go back. Plus another recommendation- We had outside caterers , ‘designtodine’ in to cook a special meal for the adults, which was absolutely fantastic, very high quality, they cooked, waited on us and left the kitchen spotless. We also had the kids tea party food, afternoon tea for the adults and one evening had street food, all excellent. An amazing holiday, couldn’t have wished for more. Anyone looking at this property do not hesitate to book it.

“A folder with manuals for operation of all the equipment would be useful.”

It is a very large house and would be very hard for the owner to locate any defects in the house. So a book were guests could note any defects would be useful to the owner. For example my bedroom shower head was very loose, which meant standing against the wall for it to be effective due to it dropping down. There was masses of glasses of every shape and size, but not enough cups for the number of people in the house.

“Fantastic house.”

Booked for a 40th birthday celebration. Age ranges 8 - 40 years. Swimming Pool was excellent, beds very clean and comfy. All amenities you could ever need and we made use of the washing machine, tumble dryer and BBQ. So much space! The games room was brilliant we spent most of our time in this room. We didn't have to worry about the weather as we had all the entertainment we needed. Location wise very close access to A55 for venturing to nearby beaches and attractions. Julie the owner was lovely and very welcoming and on hand 2 minutes away if help needed. The plough pub/restaurant is a must and in walking distance. Thanks for a fantastic holiday

“We had a wonderful week at Richmond Hall.”

The weather was superb but it needn't have been as the facilities are great - the pool is outstanding, larger than I thought it would be. If we can get enough people together again I'd be very keen to return. It is a very large property where the rooms are large enough so that when everyone wants to be together they can and, conversely, there are enough rooms where you can seperate out a bit. The gardens are extensive and there is nice furniture in different locations so you can all be together or spend a bit of quiet time alone. The kitchen has an AGA (and a traditional oven/stove too) which I loved and it must be brilliant in winter! Julie met us when we arrived to explain everything and then we all felt like lottery winners for the week. Thank you Julie, hopefully see you again! :)

Richmond Hall is a fantastic holiday property Julie was there to welcome us and give a guided tour The house is very comfortable with plenty of room for a large family gathering The swimming pool was warm and such a big attraction for the whole family, there were even lots of floats and balls to play with The games room was a huge hit with a snooker table pool table and dart board a large TV for watching football Some of the older children had many hours of fun behind the bar making everyone drinks The Snowdonia National Park is only 45 min drive away where a few of the family walked up to the summit, the rest taking the train Llandudno 30 mins drive from the property is a lovely seaside town for traditional fish and chips and a walk along the pier The only minor negative is the grounds of the property are not suitable for outside games such as rounders or cricket but the pool certainly makes up for it We would all recommend Richmond Hall, all the family had a wonderful time Thank you Julie

Property was amazing. We celebrated my 50th birthday here. Age range from 1-75. We organised family activities from mosaic coaster making in the dining room, a cider tasting also in the dining room. A pamper party by the pool, a teddy bear hunt in the grounds, a cocktail demonstration in the bar along with a disco, snooker , pool & darts tournament. “Firstly, the place is absolutely FANTASTIC!”

We booked it to celebrate our recent wedding with family and close friends: 10 adults, 10 children (ranging 2 - 15 years old) - and there was something for EVERYONE to do. The pool and the facilities are just incredible! The bar and games room was a huge hit too - a perfect place for a celebration. And the bedrooms were just perfect! Julie was kind enough to get there before us to greet the shopping delivery we had ordered - and even put it away for us! She then showed us round and explained that they had an unfortunate issue with the heating that was being repaired the next day - which it was. Heating aside for that first night/morning, the whole weekend there was brilliant! Would HIGHLY recommend it. We went in winter when it was snowy and frosty - which was beautiful. “Fabulous Holiday for our large family of 15.”

Two things make a Fab holiday a) company b) Venue, both of these we had this year. Company is always great but we must have a place which suits all of our family holiday dreams. Richmond Hall has a Family Room. Pool Room with loads of leisure facilities and Family Kitchen which is just what is required for a great family holiday. Most of our time was spent in these rooms where everyone was able to do their own thing. In the Family Room / Bar you could relax and watch TV, play card games, snooker, pool, darts or just stand at the bar talking. We had a few very enjoyable party evenings. Downstairs you were able to find a quiet area where you were able to enjoy your own company. The en-suite bedrooms were just what was needed with the exception of the downstairs bedroom which needs en-suite facilities added. Julie the owner was there to meet us and provided us with valuable information which we needed for our stay. We had a problem with the Hot Tub and after a telephone call to Julie it was back in working order within 24 hours. It is in a great location, within five minutes walking distance of ST Asaph and a short ride to the dual carriageway where you can visit numerous tourists attractions in North Wales. A couple of observations from our family are that the Dining Room chairs, and the Kitchen pots / pans / utensils be renewed. Downstairs is looking tired and may need some refurbishment doing in the next few years . Overall it is a brilliant venue and hopefully we will be having another family holiday at Richmond Hall.

“Overall we had a wonderful stay but there are a few areas which could be improved: - Bigger pots and pans in the kitchen.”

There were lots of them but they weren't big enough to cook for 15 people so this made meal times a challenge. Some also need replacing as they've lost the non-stick coating and the knives really need sharpening. - The house was very clean at a surface level but it's in need of a deeper clean more often e.g. some bathrooms had orange mould/black gunk around the sink, we also had a few issues with drainage due to loads of hair in the plugholes. - A few broken items too e.g. lights not working, toilet cisterns taking a very long time to refill, slight breakage to shower door in 1 room so it came off the hinges, some dining room seats feel like they're on the edge of breaking. It's in need of some more general maintenance more often to pick up on these issues. - The biggest issue for us was the bins being collected at 3:45am Friday morning which woke up the majority of the household, that's really not acceptable and why for us the comfort rating is lower than we would've given otherwise. - We did also question which bathroom the downstairs bedroom is expected to use because the pool bathroom doesn't have a lock on the door to the poolroom so lacks the option for privacy? The alcove with extra shelving could be better used as a small shower area. Overall though we really did enjoy our stay - the rooms were beautifully decorated with plenty of seating areas to enjoy, it gives the right mix of allowing guests to have their own space but with plenty of seating in communal areas for bigger get togethers. Beautiful grounds too - appreciated that the tennis court had been well maintained but there were lots of wild flowers and bird song too so it was relaxing to be outside. It's in a great location - the house is easy to get to with easy assess to the local village. Even though the duel carriageway is so close it still feels very private. Great facilities onsite with the games room, pool, sauna and tennis court so you don't feel you have to go out every day for entertainment. Although we didn't have little ones with us we did note the thoughtfulness of providing them with some extra little games and being able to lock the gym/pool area so they can be kept safe. Julie the owner was very welcoming and provided lots of helpful information about how to use the house facilities. It's a great place for families or friends to meet up for a holiday and I would recommend it as a place to stay. It is set in lovely grounds with extensive views over the surrounding countryside. It is an excellent place to stay any time of the year and whatever the weather. It is very comfortable and secluded with areas where people can meet up – but also visitors have their own personal space. It is flexible in that people can do things together, on their own or in small groups. The range of facilities, as mentioned in the website, means that there is plenty to do with lots of choices. These facilities are well maintained. There is no need to leave the property – but with half an hour you can be on the beach, in Snowdonia National Park or visiting a castle. There is also space to simply sit and relax, chat or read a book. The owner, Julie Jones, is very welcoming, accessible and willing to help in any way she can - without ever being intrusive. She freely gives help and advice prior to your visit as well as during it. Over the past few years, we have had three excellent family celebrations at Richmond Hall – and would not hesitate to recommend it.

!! After the lockdown Christmas of 2020 I booked Richmond Hall for Christmas 2021 and so glad I did. Richmond Hall meant that the family could all be together which was the most important thing. Richmond Hall met all of our expectations and more. The whole family ranging from 2 to 60 years had a wonderful Christmas spent here. Julie the host is a lovely Lady.She set the dinning table beautifully for our Christmas Dinner. The pool was amazing and the games room and sauna were well used. My only criticism of the property would be a lack of matching crockery/ cutlery/ glasses.

The facilities are excellent - the huge swimming pool being a particular family favourite. The house is well equipped and comfy - places for family to be together and plenty of space to spread out when required. The weather was so glorious we didn't use the games room that much but there was plenty things for all the family to enjoy. Richmond Hall is also well positioned for visiting Conwy castle, Bodnant Gardens and Llandudno as well as longer excursions into Snowdonia. Definitely a place we would love to return!

So much to do there. Julie, the owner met us on our arrival and showed us around the house, she we lovely and very helpful. We had great weather which meant we could make the most of the house and the grounds. The swimming pool was brilliant and we used it every day. We also loved the tennis court. The pool and hot tub were wonderful, as was the games room that we spent a lot of time in, even with 16 of us we were able to all hang out together. The only things that stopped this house being perfect were small things, some of the lights didn’t work so it was difficult to light some areas sufficiently, also the main kitchen (while wonderful) could do with some sharper knives and a pair of scissors. We had a brilliant time here and we’d love to come back in the future.

Although 2years + in the planning it was the best choice I could have made. Absolutely brilliant. Sykes Cottages did their part in ensuring that the surprize remained a secret. Their descripton of the property was very accurate and reliable. Richmond Hall was all we could hope for and everyone of the 19 attending gave it 10 out of 10. The owner Julie gave us all the attention we needed without being intrusive. When a problem did arise it was dealt with straight away. The property offered substantial entertainment facilities in it's own right and certainly didn't disappoint. There was plenty to occupy us within a medium travel distance and between the house and the wider area we were busy all week. Would I book it again? Yes I would.

“The best holiday yet Our famili aged from 18 months to 70 years had a truly wonderful time.”

The pool is wonderful and was used several times every day, the jacuzzi deliciously warm, lovely big sauna and a great gym. The games is everything and more as described, The house is huge but so warm and welcoming and the grounds including tennis courts are fabulous. Following an entirely different holiday one of our party brought a small fan heater as in the previous house NOT booked through Sykes we were freezing. Not so at Richmond Hall when we stayed this February the weather was so cold wet and very windy with flurries of sno and hail. Don’t hesitate to book we were as warm as toast no need for any extra heating at all it was wonderful. Julie the owner is wonderful and can’t do enough to help. We had a birthday celebration with giant slot car racing in the drawing room and on another day had a spa day. We held a darts competition and a quiz in the games room and awarded trophies. Really looking forward to returning and huge thanks to Julie. Don’t hesitate to book at any time of year.

Recently celebrated my 30th birthday there with friends and family and honestly the house just takes your breath away. From the moment we arrived we walked around open-mouthed. It is spotlessly clean with copious amounts of clean towels and the bedding was soft, luxurious and fresh. Most of our time was spent in the very warm and large pool area and the games room with bar. The bedrooms are all fabulous and each has its own unique character. The master suite is out of this world. The kitchen is excellently equipped and once you get the hang of the Aga oven it is a dream to cook with. The owner of the property is lovely and is there if you have any problems at all; nothing seems too much trouble for her. “We liked Everything.”

We have stayed in lots of different properties with similar facilities but Richmond Hall exceeds all of them, it really is excellent. The online description and photographs are good but it is even better when you are there, and we soon got to know our way around. It should be graded 5 star not 4. We were worried about it being cold but the house was really warm even though it was freezing outside. The very friendly owners make you feel welcome from the minute you arrive, and nothing is too much trouble if you need anything. It's in a nice area and the local people were very friendly too. I would highly recommend this holiday property, and would love to return again in the future.

This included 5 couples and overall we all loved our stay. Missing the comfort of the beds as had the best nights sleep here. This impressive country hall is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the picturesque city of St Asaph in Denbighshire, North Wales.

This luxurious country house offers spacious accommodation for friends and family looking for an exclusive destination with private swimming pool, tennis court, indoor table tennis, sauna, and snooker room with its own bar, all set in the propertys private grounds.

Enjoying delightful country views, Richmond Hall offers impressive accommodation with spacious bedrooms over two floors, two with delightful balconies with stone balustrades and far-reaching views.

All of the first floor rooms benefit from en-suite facilities, with the master bedroom enjoying a particularly impressive bathroom with a walk-through rainfall shower, a freestanding bath and his and her sinks, as well as a separate dressing room.

This beautiful cottage offers a welcoming sitting room with office area, an impressively large drawing room, a large banqueting room, which seats up to eighteen people, and a stylish kitchen with breakfast table boasting both a double AGA and a breakfast island with Corian worktops, along with patio doors leading onto a secluded and enclosed courtyard with a seating area and chiminea.

The changing room with shower and an electric sauna that is suitable for up to six guests to enjoy together.

Doors lead to indoor swimming pool with separate Jacuzzi and there are also doors out onto two patio areas and an annexe, which provides privacy for four additional guests and has two bedrooms that share a bathroom and an open plan living area.

The first floor offers a further leisure area with a full-size snooker table with traditional bar area and stools where you can be your own landlord, plus a further seating area and Sky TV with the benefit of male and female toilets.

This wonderful house is accessed through electronic gates, along a sweeping driveway and through superbly maintained gardens, which offer a fenced tennis court with glass summerhouse, sweeping lawns, and several seating areas from which to enjoy the superb views.

The city centre is five minutes walk where you can access the delightful shops, restaurants and pubs that St Asaph has to offer, as well as riverside walks and the Clwydian Way footpath which passes the entrance gates to the hall.

Also a golf driving range and Tweedmill Shopping Outlet is just over one mile away, and Snowdonia is 40 minutes away.

St Asaph, though small, was awarded city status in 2012, even though it boasts a population of little over 3500 occupants. Lying in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales, St Asaph enjoys a strategic location overlooking the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral.
