The property

This attractive, stone-built cottage sits within the picturesque hamlet of Cilan, close to the harbour village of Abersoch, on the scenic Llyn Peninsula.

Boasting amazing views across the sea towards Bardsey Island, Porth Neigwl beach and the bay of Abersoch, the property sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the National Trust headland.

Sunstone (Garreg Haul) is a wonderful place to call home while exploring the beauty of this Welsh region, sitting on the Welsh coastal path, within a 10-minute walk to Porth Neigwl beach and less than a 7 minute drive to Abersoch village.

After a day of exploring, head home to the open-plan living space, complete with exposed stone walls and a woodburning stove within an inglenook fireplace, it is a fabulous spot to unwind and reflect on the day, or tune into the Smart TV to watch a favourite film.

The kitchen is well-equipped to satisfy your culinary needs, boasting all the essentials including an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher, so washing up will be a breeze!

Retire to one of the two bedrooms, either a double room with Smart TV, wardrobe and two sets of drawers and enjoy the views of Porth Neigwl beach or the twin room with garden views and storage under beds, bedside tables and a separate hanging area.

Both rooms are served by a bathroom with bath and shower over, giving you choice of how to prepare for the day.

Outside you have the choice of two gardens, one with stunning views across the sea to Bardsey Island, with a patio and BBQ area and a second more sheltered sun trap garden, laid to lawn with outside dining area and hammock.

The gardens are a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset, there is a firepit and BBQ available for you to enjoy and the garden is perfect for star gazing.

If you don't fancy cooking head to the Sun Inn, just a 5-minute drive away, where you can enjoy a real ale in the pub garden, a fantastic meal or a Roast Dinner on a Sunday, best of all your four-legged friends are welcome too!

There are plenty of other restaurants, bars and pubs to try whilst on holiday in Abersoch and there is a new farm shop and coffee shop just 3 minutes from Garreg Haul.

Excellent cycling and walking trails are right on the doorstep with direct access to the Welsh Coastal Path in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The National Trust headland provides a home to protected species like Choughs and is perfect for bird watchers and nature lovers where you also see the wild hares and horses on a daily basis.

Take a boat trip to Bardsey Island which is a Grey Seal reserve, that you can be on within half an hour, and is also home to Puffins at certain times of the year and you may even be able to see Dolphins in the Bay.

Those looking for some time on the beach can head to one of 5 local beaches including Porth Neigwl ( great for surfing), Porth Ceiriad which is a 3-minute drive or park at Abersoch Main Beach, popular with families, the bay of which can also be seen from the property.

Explore further afield and there’s plenty to discover; visit the castles at Criccieth, Harlech and Caernarfon and the magical village of Portmeirion, the lovely harbour town of Porthmadog, take a trip on a steam train or visit all the attractions and delights of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park which can all be easily reached.

Sunstone is a beautiful place to retreat and re-energise, a great spot for star gazing, art and photography, this is a truly excellent base to call home for your North Wales holiday.

ABERSOCH

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
