Visit Rhyl, where there is another sandy beach and the ruins of Rhuddlan Castle, or spend a day at Llandudno, walking along the well-known pier or hiking up the Little Orme or Big Orme, trying out skiing and snowboarding at the local centre.

Head a little further to discover Conwy with its impressive castle and RSPB nature reserve, or venture into the coast of Anglesey with its zoo, stunning coastline, Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park where you can enjoy watersports, wild swimming and hikes to the top of Snowdon, and there is also the option to go shopping for the day in the historic city of Chester, with an abundance of shops, riverside walks, the roman walls and amphitheatre.
