“Lovely house with fabulous views from it's elevated position over the harbour, rare to find such a welcoming property so close to the town centre, with the bonus of private parking.”

Enjoyed a drink in the sun watching the steam-trains at the picturesque station nearby, it's a real gem.

“Property in great location.”

Sleeps 9 but a bit of a squeeze. Parking restricted to one vehicle. Property pleasantly laid out but suffering from damp in front door area and kitchen cupboards. Overall a pleasant stay.

“We have had a wonderful week in Garth Craig.”

The cottage was clean, comfortable and beautiful. It was great for our family of four with two grown up sons and plenty of space. We used the local trains to Harlech, Portmeirian and Criccieth walking back from the last two. We were welcomed with a delicious hamper on arrival with plenty of suggestions for food and adventures. Beautiful sandy beaches, amazing views and a wonderful cottage. Highly recommend and very much hope to go back. Thank you Judith and Eric - fabulous.

“Perfect stay to visit this part of wales.”

Great view from the house over the town, Harbour and estuary. Only 10 minutes walk to the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railway. Also just 45 minutes drive to mount Snowdon. Huge house and enough space for a whole family.

The view from it was amazing and we had great weather all week so got that view every day. It is in a good position for access to the town, railway, places to eat, etc. We did not cook much but all the utensils etc were there should we have wanted to. Very clean and very comfortable. The owner gave us very detailed advice and information before our stay making it much easier for us. Brilliant, thank you.

“We had a few issues within the first few days.”

A leak in the attic bathroom coming from the toilet, and the gas fire door wouldn't shut in one of the living rooms. The owners sent the caretaker to fix them quickly. The house was beautifully decorated, warm, clean and had everything we needed.

The cottage was all we expected and more. It was very comfortable and clean , the kitchen especially was a great facility, with all we needed to cook and feed 4 hungry walkers when we returned back in late afternoon. The bathrooms were well appointed and loads of hot water. We all want to return in the future.

“Ideal location with magnificent views across the harbour to the mountains, and easy access to the facilities in the town.”

Although there are lots of steps, these can be avoided by parking your car higher up Garth Road and using the path in front of the house. The property is very well equipped, comfortably furnished and provided excellent accommodation for the three generations of our family of nine.

“This is a really spacious, well equipped holiday home.”

It was very clean, and the food hamper was very welcome on arrival. It is perfectly situated in Porthmadog, and has lovely views across the town towards the mountains. Our party had 2 cars, so one had to be parked in the nearby car park, which incurs a fee. Access on foot is challenging, and you need to be aware that there are a lot of steps at the front of the house from the road. Our Tesco delivery man had a good work out on our first day with our food order! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely return in the future.

“Garth Craig is a fabulous holiday let.”

The house is large, and all the rooms are spacious and well-furnished. It has everything you could need for a comfortable and pleasant stay. It has a perfect position overlooking the harbour, and the views from the front windows are beautiful. It’s far enough from the main town centre to be nice and quiet, but close enough to be very convenient for the harbour and the shops etc. The beaches at Borth-y-Gest are a pleasant 15 minute walk away. The house was very comfortable and immaculately clean. The basket of goodies on arrival was very welcome! The parking space at the rear is a bit tricky to find, and it’s quite a tight space, but it’s useful to have. We had a second car, and initially we struggled to find a good spot to park it. The Ship Inn said that they had no official car park we could use, but it turned out that there were some free spaces behind that pub. Next to that, and still very close to the house, is a long stay car park (Lombard Street costing £5.50 per 24 hours), but we were usually lucky enough to find a space down by the harbour, where parking is free. We would definitely recommend Garth Craig, and hope to return.

“Garth Craig is a comfortable house in a great location.”

The bad score is no reflection on Carth Craig however it is on Sykes Cottages!! Not responding to your guests emails, unable to call your office unless you want to be waiting 1 hour plus. When I finally got a response to my email it was just a generic if you want to change your dates etc. I will never use Sykes again and I advise others to so the same.

“This house is a lovely base for exploring the area and with a beach and the town within walking distance.”

The house is plenty big enough for 9 people and has everything you could possibly need...and more. If you have limited mobility you may find the walk up from the town to the house a bit of a challenge but otherwise this house would suit anyone. Lovely touches from the owners leaving Welsh cakes and texting a couple of times to make sure we were all ok. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Recommend the Pontoon resturant in PWLLHELI for we celebrated a 50th themed party and we're brilliant. Cottage had a personal loving touch which meant everyone relaxed and felt really at home from the start to the end of the holiday. Would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and intend to return to explore North Wales further.

“This house was the best equipped holiday property I've ever seen (and I've stayed in a lot of places!”

Excellent kitchen, bath/shower room, laundry and storage facilities, plus lots of books, toys and games, beach equipment, DVDs, Wifi etc. My husband and I went with our daughter, son-in-law and 3-year old grandson, and all 3 generations loved it. Lots of space for the grown-ups to have a quiet sitting room and still have a whole room just for toys and games (3-year old loved the toy chest in the 2nd sitting room!). Comfortable beds, quiet location, apart from the "toot, toot" of the steam railway a few 100 yards away (3-year old in Thomas the Thank Engine heaven!) but close to shops and facilities, including children's playground. Oh, and the most spectacular views. Excellent all round.

A delightful, double-fronted, end-terrace cottage, set in an elevated position close to the centre of Porthmadog, yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the marina and shops of this North Wales seaside resort.

The bustling harbour town of Porthmadog lies on the Glaslyn Estuary and enjoys a stunning setting. The gateway to the Snowdonia National Park, Porthmadog is full of individual shops and restaurants, and home to the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland railway where you can travel by steam through spectacular Snowdonia scenery, to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caerforn . The pretty village of Borth Y Gest, with its cliffs and coves, is a short walk or drive from the town. The well known and unique Italianate village of Portmeirion is just down the coast.
