The picturesque walled city of Chester is within easy driving distance from your cottage near Ruthin, and offers fantastic historic buildings, and a great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants; take a pedal boat or a rowing boat out onto the River Dee, visit the Roman Amphitheatre, or walk the ancient walls.

Pentre Celyn is a very pretty, scattered hamlet some 5 miles from Ruthin. Ruthin itself sits on a hilltop, with a variety of attractive half-timbered buildings and interesting shops, as well as Ruthin Gaol, Ruthin Craft Centre and Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales). There is so much on the doorstep - Llangollen is to the south, via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass, visit Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest, or head to the Snowdonia National Park, the beautiful coastline and historic Chester.
