The property

Holyhead 1.3 miles.

This delightful traditional shepherd’s hut is located near Holyhead in the Vale of Anglesey.

The charming property provides cosy accommodation for two on a Welsh working farm with stunning views to the coast and countryside.

Accessed via a set of three wooden steps, the stable-style door opens up to reveal a characterful interior.

At one end is a built in double bed, with plenty of storage, and a door at the other end leads to the WC and shower room.

There’s an open plan living area with galley kitchen and dining area, with two comfy tub chairs and a useful drop-leaf table, plus a woodburning stove providing plenty of warmth.

The galley kitchen is well-equipped and provides ample space for cooking tasty meals.

Outside there’s a small area of raised decking which includes a seated platform with chairs, so you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views.

There’s easy to access parking right next to the shepherd’s hut.

Nearby is the busy town of Holyhead, which dates back to 450AD.

Take a look around the many shops, or sample some local specialities in one of the many pubs, cafes or restaurants.

Explore St Cybi’s Church in the town centre, which is built on the site of a Roman fort or enjoy a coastal walk and bird watching at Breakwater Country Park.

Elsewhere, Llangefni is the place to go for arts and culture and Menai Bridge to view two stunning bridges.

As Holyhead is home to the Stena Line, you could even take a trip to Dublin.

Bursting with character and oozing with charm, Llety'r Bugail is the perfect place for a calm retreat for one or a romantic break for two.

This property is on the same site as 950566, 950567, 950568, 950569 and 973876, together they sleep 20.

Bodwarren Farm

Holyhead 1.3 miles. These six lovely properties are set on the owners’ 70 acre working livestock farm, in a rural location, close to the town and ferry port of Holyhead on Anglesey. With stunning sea and mountain views that can be seen from the farm, these holiday homes are ideal for couples, families and friends with a number of attractions and places to visit within easy reach. Y Wennol and Y Wylan offer single-storey accommodation and both sleep two people, whilst Y Barcud and Bran Goesgoch sleep six each. Cysgod y Bugail and Llety'r Bugail are two delightful little shepherd's huts also sleeping two each. All properties share a courtyard area to park cars, and four have an enclosed garden with a lawned area, patio and furniture whilst the two huts provide peaceful decked balconies, a perfect setting to enjoy an alfresco dinner at the end of the day. Although these charming retreats are in quiet location, there’s something for everyone nearby, including a visit to the town of Holyhead which has remains of Roman town walls and forts, a colourful marina, maritime museum, shops and pubs. Holyhead is also a main ferry point for Ireland, so a day trip to Dublin may be on the cards! Also close by is the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, from where you may be able to spot seals who visit the Holyhead coast. Just over three miles away is the resort of Trearddur Bay, with its sandy beaches and watersports. Other places of interest are cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, and South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve is well worth a visit. All this and much, much more can enjoyed from these welcoming holiday homes.

About the location

HOLYHEAD

Trearddur Bay 3 miles.

The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Snowdonia National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.
