Cedric “Loved it, and we will book again.”

Lyndsey “We arrived at the property on Saturday 10th of Feb and the house was only 11 degrees.”
The house had not been heated in a while and the furniture was very cold. We attempted to switch on the heating however the boiler wouldn't fire up so then had to make several calls to Sykes to explain what had happened. A gas engineer arrived the next day and the heating was then on around lunchtime however it then took approx 24 hrs to heat up the house. The heating should have been checked before we arrived. We had to sit with hats on as we were that cold. Sykes have not provided any response to the issues we have raised.

Antonia “I have issued numerous photos, telephoned and emailed with details of the poor stay.”
I await any meaningful communication from the owner as to why the stay was so poor.
- AntoniaWendy “We really enjoyed our stay at Hillside the location & sea views were a bonus , the house & garden were amazing so spacious .”
All the appliances were top of the range , really useful having washing machine & tumble drier especially with children . A welcome pack would be useful explaining everything , I.e we spent ages looking for WiFi password as one on router had worn away . Tried to hoover but wasn’t picking up , took us a good hour to unblock filter & pipe. Overall we loved our stay especially with lovely sunshine & we will be back again. . Maybe a few more facilities in the garden etc would be useful
- WendyR “House and location are both lovely!”
House needs some care and attention Mould in downstairs bedroom Kitchen tap constantly dripping Kitchen draw front falls off in your hand Fridge wasn’t clean Oven wasn’t clean No oven gloves, dish cloth, tea towels - need to advertise this! Upstairs master bedroom has bed with just 1 thin sheet on - no mattress protector etc Outside table missing half it’s top Outside front and back of house and balcony from bedroom a mess! First thing we did when we arrived was look for a broom to sweep up!
- RNigel “Hillside is undoubtedly a lovely house in a prime position with lovely views and a fabulous garden which suited our family well as we have 2 young grandchildren.”
However, on our arrival, the house had not been cleaned properly, there was a constantly dripping tap in the kitchen and the freezer was so frosted up, we couldn't get the container drawer in there. There were no instructions left for us and no welcome/guide book which would have been helpful. I subsequently got to the bottom of the cleaning problem by spending an hour taking the Henry Hoover apart, cleaning the filter and putting the lid back on properly and it now works admirably as opposed to having little or no suction at all. In our opinion, we loved our stay at Hillside but the price you charged us along with the huge prices over the Summer holidays, warrant better cleanliness and facilities.
- NigelMr Page “We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Hillside, the house was a great size for 8 of us, ideal location for the beaches and Abersoch High St.”
in the summer I can imagine the large garden to be well used.

About the location
ABERSOCH
Pwllheli 6 miles.
The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
