“Fabulous week, the cottage had everything we needed for a great holiday, and The Vaynol Arms served great food, you need to be very hungry to eat it all.”

Travelled all over Snowdonia and always a pleasure to return, watch the sheep and relax.

The property

Llanberis 2.5 miles.

This is a very well appointed, semi-detached character cottage, located in the semi-rural village of Nant Peris at the foot of the Snowdon mountain range.

Offering some of the most dramatic scenery in North Wales, the cottage is tucked away from the main road with a backdrop of mountainous hillside scenery.

This delightful cottage is decorated to a high standard throughout and is an ideal base for couples, friends and families wishing to enjoy time together exploring this beautiful area, and is just perfect for walkers and hikers alike.

The cottage offers cosy and comfortable accommodation with today’s comforts in mind whilst still retaining some character features, such as exposed beams.

The sitting room is spacious with comfy seating and you can’t help but be drawn to the wonderful decorative stove on the raised slate hearth which makes a great focal point to the room.

The light and bright kitchen is modern in design and well equipped with a sociable dining area.

Two bedrooms, with the twin benefiting from some fantastic mountainous views, and the upstairs bathroom finish off the accommodation.

Outside is a lovely enclosed lawned garden with furniture, a great area to sit and enjoy the views and backdrop of mountainous scenery.

If you don’t fancy cooking then pop next door to the Vaynol Arms, a traditional Welsh long house pub, and enjoy the warm welcome, genuine hospitality, real ale and home-cooked meals, while youngsters will be kept entertained with the play area close by with swings, climbing frames and slide.

The cottage is a mere 2.5 miles from the Snowdon Mountain Railway which climbs almost to the doorstep of the stunning Hafod Eryri Visitor Centre or you can take one of the many tracks to the summit of Snowdon, all situated a short drive away from the cottage.

Visit the town of Llanberis itself, passing the remains of the famous Dolbadarn Castle on the way which takes you back a thousand years to the time of the native Welsh Princes.

Llanberis Lake is just waiting to be discovered, as is the Llanberis Lake Railway.

There is plenty to see and do in lakeside Padarn Country Park, including The National Slate Museum, Electric Mountain and there are craft shops and watersports too.

Bwthyn y Nant provides a perfect base anytime of the year.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

LLANBERIS

Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a mecca for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train via the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year, a triathlon known as the world's toughest, and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26-mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. The area is also popular for mountain biking, open water swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 7 miles from Llanberis on the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn, Plas Newydd and Bodnant Gardens.

Note: Check-in 4pm for holiday starting on Friday but if the holiday starting on any other days of the week check in time after 5 PM. Property is unable to accommodate a Monday check in.
