“We loved our stay at Fernlea, we felt very comfortable and the beach only 5 minutes walk away.”

The house is very well equipped, everything you could need. We had a couple of lovely days at Llanbedrog which is around 15 mins in the car which is our favourite beach and walked down to the beach and the Ty Coch in the evenings for a lovely walk with our dog.

“We found the house lovely.”

After a little bit of a do with the door lock - remedied with a call to the owner, we had a wonderful time. There was plenty of space for us all and we spent some time on the patio enjoying the sunshine and peace and quiet. We had never been to the area before, but fell in love with it. I would certainly go again.

“Well furnished and ideally located property in a quiet cul-de-sac .”

The property was very clean, spacious and well equipped including Wi-Fi . The beds were really comfy and the conservatory was an added bonus. Located just 10 minutes from the beach and 15-20 minutes from Nefyn golf club. We particularly enjoyed a daily dog walk through the golf course to the lifeboat station returning along the Porthdinllaen coast path via the Ty Coch pub and back along the beach.. Breathtaking stunning scenery on this walk.

“We enjoyed a relaxing happy holiday at Fernlea.”

It was very spacious, warm, modern and bright. We found the layout very practical and it was lovely to have plenty of comfortable chairs and good bed mattresses. It was great to be just 10 minutes walk from our favourite beach, and so handy to have the good garage shop just 5 minutes walk away. The good WiFi was appreciated as the weather was a mixed bag - but expected that for March. The garden was lovely and secure for our Jack Russell. We would like to visit again and would thoroughly recommend it to family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful holiday home.

“Having been to Morfa Nefyn 9 times now and stayed in a different cottage each time, I would say that Fernlea is in a great location to explore the local and surrounding peninsular as well as the Snowdonia region.”

It is very well equipped, warm and has extremely comfortable beds( hard to drag yourselves out of them), at first it felt like you were intruding into someones house, because there are pictures of family all around and considerable amount of food in the cupboards but we soon settled in. The few issues we had were leaking in the conservatory and cleanliness slightly let it down, especially around the floors on arrival and damp mouldy areas around some windows and grouting. The parking for 2 cars ( maybe 3 small ones) was a welcome addition and the fact that it allowed our 2 well behaved dogs was great. Overall great cottage, great location, just needs attention to a few areas and wouldn't hesitate to return in future. Also found it strange to have been left no Welcome pack of any description ( always had a pack left everywhere else, no matter how small with just few essentials) Thanks

Thank you for your feedback Noel. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. We do leave some of our own personal pictures around the house but I’m glad this didn’t stop you settling in. I will mention the cleaning issues to the cleaner. There isn’t usually a problem so I’m not sure what has happened here. The leak in the conservatory has hopefully now been sorted. We send the house details and description plus places to visit on email to you prior to your stay. The same information is also in the house on the side in the sitting room or hallway in a blue folder. I’m sorry you didn’t find it. We operate a policy of people leaving dry good for others guests rather than throwing them out , such as flour, oil etc but fully appreciate it if you don’t want to use them. “Very comfortable property with quality furniture and furnishings.”

Very conveniently situated near to shops, pub and beach. The only minor problems we encountered were that the shower riser rail was broken leading to contortions having a shower and the freezer needs defrosting which lead to water leaking onto the kitchen floor, both common problems with holiday rental properties. We would certainly consider revisiting Fearnlea in the future.

Thank you for your feedback Brian. I am sorry about the problems with the shower riser rail. I was unaware of this as it had not been reported by the cleaner. There has probably been a build up of ice in the freezer as a previous guest may not have shut it properly. This happens on occasions. I will certainly ensure these issues are dealt with. If you book Fernlea in the future please do not hesitate to ring us about issues with for example the shower as we have a very good plumber who would have come out to mend it the following day. “I thought that the house was supposed to have a deep clean after visitors had left due to the Covid virus.”

The house was not actually dirty but the waste bin in the kitchen was grimy on the top. The bunting in the bathroom is not suitable for a 6ft 4inch man! Apart from this, Fernlea comes highly recommended.

Nicely located in a quiet cul-de-sac yet only a couple of minutes walk to the village shop and a few minutes stroll to the beach and the Cliffs pub also close to a green lane taking you to the cliff top walks towards Nefyn. We found the enclosed garden convenient and dog-proof so handy for our two terriers to wander in and out from the huge conservatory. Only very slight downside was that we could not get the vacuum cleaner to work.

“We all had a fantastic stay at this beautiful property.”

It had everything we needed and more. It was extremely comfortable, very roomy and very homely, the ideal place to celebrate a quiet family Christmas. Booking was super easy and the owner was brilliant at providing all the information about the property and the collection of keys. Dog walks were amazing and we all enjoyed the beaches, sub tropical climate ( no real rain!) and smooth roads, without far too many cars and potholes!. We had a much needed, perfect Christmas. This house has a five star rating from me and it’s certainly on my list to visit more of North Wales and stay at Fernlea, Morfa Nefyn again. Thank you very much.

“The cottage was a decent size and from a comfort and equipment perspective it was great.”

The conservatory was great to sit in. However I have a few areas of dissatisfaction. The cleanliness of the floor was disappointing when we arrived. Particles and small pieces of rubbish in carpet or on floor. What I found out last day was that the hoover in the house is rubbish. It does not pick up anything and is clearly depositing particles dust etc rather than keeping it in the hoover. No Welcome Pack present - not a problem if Costcutter is open across the way but if you arrive late then a cup of tea is hard to get. Actually first time stayed in a cottage and one has not been present of basic food. And lastly - difficult to sit outside without coming across loads of ants. Sur eI know a garden has ants but I guess the maintenance of garden area is not covered in the same way as the house. Just needs a bit of attention.

“Fernlea is a lovely property as it is spacious, clean and very comfortable.”

The master bedroom is huge and the lounge too. The conservatory was perfect for relaxing on a sunny afternoon. The location of the property is very good as it is set in a quiet residential cul-de-sac and is in a good spot for exploring the area. Also, being a very short walk from the shop, this was a real bonus. There were only a couple of niggles - the listing stated that there was a microwave but there wasn’t one and no explanation as to why. The other issue was the extremely creaky floor in the master bedroom. It would not ordinarily be something to mention but it is nothing like I’ve heard before whether you are the one walking on it or indeed sat underneath it. Again - a niggle not a major issue. A beautiful part of Wales made more enjoyable by comfortable and homey accommodation.

Fernlea is a homely detached cottage in a quiet residential location within a small cul de sac, but only a short stroll away from all the amenities in the coastal seaside village of Morfa Nefyn on the northern coast of the Llyn Peninsula.

Situated within a ten minute walk to the beautiful sandy Porthdinllaen Beach, and with easy access to the Llyn Coastal Path, this delightful property is ideal for couples, friends and families wishing to spend time together exploring the beautiful coastline of North Wales, with its hidden beaches and coves.

Well-equipped and offering comfortable accommodation Fernlea provides a welcoming base, ensuring everyone will enjoy their holiday or break away.

The sitting room is comfortable and spacious with a warming woodburning stove, lovely for those chillier evenings with the conservatory enjoying a sunny aspect making it an ideal place to unwind and perhaps read that book you’ve been promising yourself but never found the time to.

A traditional style kitchen with breakfast table is ideal for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day, with a more formal and relaxed dining room for enjoying a late supper while you plan where to visit the next day.

The three bedrooms are comfortable, and the main bedroom offers a king-size bed, all serviced by the family bathroom with the welcomed addition of a downstairs cloakroom.

Spend long, lazy days on one of the area's lovely beaches, enjoy traversing the scenic coastline, or simply take in the wonderful views, before returning to your lovely cottage to relax and enjoy some alfresco moments outside on the patio.

The famous Ty Coch Inn, down on the beach at Porthdinllaen is a great place for a meal you don’t want to cook, after all you are on holiday!

The small town of Nefyn is nearby, and Abersoch, Pwllheli, and Criccieth with its castle are all within easy reach.

The pretty fishing village of Aberdaron, worthy of a visit particularly to see the small National Trust property of Plas Yn Rhiw, and Whistling Sands, are short drives away.

A little further afield a visit to Porthmadog is a must, home to the famous Ffestiniog Railway or perhaps visit the Italianate village and gardens of Portmeirion and the World Heritage Site of Caernarfon.

With the whole of the spectacular Llyn Peninsula on the doorstep, plus a superb 27-hole golf course not too far away, Fernlea is ideally located for a fabulous holiday or break away, anytime throughout the year.

Nefyn 1.5 miles; Pwllheli 7 miles; Abersoch 11 miles.

The pretty coastal village of Morfa Nefyn sits atop sweeping cliffs on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula, and features a fine two-mile stretch of sandy beach, popular with families. Morfa Nefyn, has a garage, a wonderful village shop with a cafe, two pubs and restaurants. The nearby town of Nefyn also offers a selection of shops, post office, pubs and restaurants, and both are within reach of the amenities of the popular towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch and the charming village of Boduan. The coastline around this region is dotted with castles and coves, while fishing, sailing and watersports are all available. The Snowdonia National Park is 25 miles away, with its dramatic scenery and superb walks, and many outdoor activity centers for the more energetic visitors. Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches, cliffs, and wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore. The Llyn Peninsula is itself renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking, and features a 91 mile long section of the Welsh Coastal Path that extends from nearby Porthmadog all the way around the peninsula to Caernarfon on the north coast. Also within easy reach are Portmeirion, the Isle of Anglesey, Caernarfon and Bangor. With its proximity to such a wide range of destinations, Morfa Nefyn makes a superb base for a break.
