The property

Resting in a peaceful position in the village of Moelfre, just a short stride from pebbly Swnt beach sits this charming cottage, Lanka.These old fishermen’s cottages are a local landmark and this characterful home is the perfect base for families in pursuit of an island adventure or a couple simply seeking a romantic escape to this historic corner of Wales.

The open-plan living space is bright and cheerful, light up the woodburning stove to bring a warmth to the room in the winter months, and sink into one of the inviting armchairs, snuggle up into the sofa together to watch tv, or simply listen to the waves.

Also in the open-plan area you can find the stylish kitchen housing all the essential utensils and appliances; it even boasts a washing machine, wonderfully convenient following your beach days.Sit together around the dining table to enjoy a home-cooked treat while you plan the next day’s adventures, or relax at the picnic to the front of the cottage on the gravelled area and dine alfresco in the evening air, watching the stars come out.

The family bathroom can also be found on the ground floor, equipped with a bath which has a shower over, a handwash basin and loo.

The bedrooms can both be found on the first floor and consist of a double and a twin both perfect for catching up on your rest, and both with ample storage space for your personal belongings.

Start your day with a stroll along the footpath to the beach where watch the sun rising over the mountains, or join the Anglesey Coastal Path which runs almost past your doorstep.

You will also find in the village you will find a local store for any last-minute ingredients for packing up a picnic for your days of adventure, as well as an excellent ice cream shop and selection of eateries to choose from.

Explore the local art gallery at Oriel Moelfre, or venture along the Anglesey Coastal Path with over 100 rock types to be discovered along with plenty of scenic landscapes to explore along this trail of 125 miles.Travel to Plas Newydd House making an extremely scenic stroll, or Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, or maybe venture over into mainland Wales via the Menai Bridge to find Snowdonia National Park at your feet, also offering exceptional walking routes, cycling, you can even choose to take a train to its peak to be rewarded by unrivalled views on a clear day.

Surrounded by so much excitement and beautiful scenery, Lanka is a wonderful base from which to explore Wales.

Lligwy 2 miles; Benllech 2.5 miles.

Situated on the beautiful east coast of Anglesey, Moelfre is a delightful seaside village, boasting little cottages, a picturesque port, a beach, fine views of Snowdonia, a working lifeboat, and two quality pubs/restaurants. Visit the hugely popular local Seawatch Centre, enjoy fishing or watching sea birds, seals and even dolphins, or discover wonderful cliff-top walks with stunning mountain views. The village has many historic links, the most recent being the site of the tragic Royal Charter shipwreck in 1859. There are stunning sandy beaches nearby, at Benllech and Lligwy, and the lovely Red Wharf Bay, with its miles of open sands and birdlife. A perfect location for travelling around this lovely island and throughout beautiful Snowdonia.
