About the location

LLANIESTYN

Botwnnog 2 miles; Abersoch 5.3 miles.

Llaniestyn is a small village situated centrally in the heart of the Llyn Peninsula renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walks. Close by is Botwnnog (2 miles) and Abersoch (5.3 miles) where you can enjoy the stunning beaches and watersports it has to offer particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing not to mention the surfing at Porth Neigiol (Hell’s Mouth beach). The long sandy Abersoch main beach is probably the most popular beach in the area for families with its shallow water and sand dunes. Afterwards why not visit Abersoch’s attractive harbour town with its shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes? Most of the coastline of the Peninsula is owned by the National Trust. There is a wonderful selection of remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs in the area including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad with its high cliffs, or Sandy Porth Oer “whistling Sands”. Visit the beautiful and picturesque village of Aberdaron with its sandy beaches or take a boat trip to Bardsey Island which is a wildlife haven for birds and seals. Visit Morfa Nefyn to walk along the beach or practice your swing at the golf course at Porthdinllaen.
