“A fantastic weekend away was had by all.”

Everyone enjoyed themselves without a doubt. The property has everything you could need. The Chrismas trees and decorations were really appreciated. Just what we wanted. Most of the rooms offer spacious, comfortable surroundings. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. There is an AGA for cooking. If your not used to one of these, just keep an eye on what you are cooking. There is also a 4 ring electric hob which you can use. We managed to cook a large Christmas dinner with success. The turkey cooked in the AGA. The two living rooms are great if you want to escape from the crowds. There was 11 of us. The rooms are warm and comfortable once the heating kicks in. The benefits of the wood burner and oil burner gave a lovely setting. The majority of the bedroom's are spacious and comfortable. The stairs are quite steep, so not really good if you struggle with stairs. The little ones certainly liked the outside area, more so the small stream running to the front of the property. Despite it being December, they got their feet wet on more than one occasion. It was great to see them out and about and doing something other than sitting with a device in their hands. Anything you forget and might need to replenish, Denbigh offers you a choose of retail stores, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl. There not to far to travel to. Our first night, we had pizza delivered to the house. Details can be found in the folder. The host can supply additional wood for the log burner at a really good price. We couldn't fault our stay and would certainly stay again. Some great memories made.

The property

Henllan 2 miles.

This is a superb, spacious farmhouse, located in the heart of grazing farmland, two miles from the pretty hamlet of Henllan, in the unspoilt Denbighshire countryside.

Not many properties are accessed down a drive of 0.75 miles, but as you approach this impressive 16th century farmhouse you will be wowed by its appearance.

Located within the boundaries of the owner's 53-acre livestock farm, and surrounded by grazing fields, this fantastic semi-detached farmhouse has been lovingly maintained to retain many of its original character features such as oak joists and original doors and window shutters.

This wonderful house offers a fantastic destination for friends and family to enjoy.

The accommodation is spread over three floors, with three different staircases to access the bedrooms which comprise a double, a twin and a king-size bedroom on the first floor and two double bedrooms up a separate staircase on the second floor, making it ideal for two families who may want their own areas.

The spacious fitted kitchen houses a large farmhouse dining table and separate seating area, as well as the original restored bread oven and kitchen range, but only as features of interest, as there is an oil-fired AGA and combination microwave oven for all your cooking needs.

The friendly, Welsh/English speaking owners have lovingly decorated and furnished this beautiful house to retain the character of the period with a welcoming sitting room warmed by a woodburner set in a large inglenook fireplace, along with a formal parlour with additional heating from an oil stove shouldered by two church pews to provide an intimate conversation area.

The children have their own play room with media and gaming TV, and there is an external games room with table tennis and table football, where you can hold your very own championship tournaments with your fellow holidaymakers.

Downstairs, all rooms have TVs.

The gardens are located in delightful woodland surroundings, with unspoilt views across farm fields, and they allow you to spend days simply relaxing, enjoying the peace and quiet of the area.

For the walkers in the party, the farmhouse benefits from doorstep paths leading from the fields and joining up with the nearby Clwydian Way and leading to Denbigh, just four miles away, meaning that you can take the time to explore the scenic countryside all around the house.

Whatever your holiday desire, you will find it at this fantastic holiday farmhouse, and a warm Welsh welcome awaits you - Bydd croeso cynnes Cymreig yn eich aros yma yn Tywysog.

About the location

HENLLAN

Denbigh 2.5 miles; St Asaph 5 miles.

The small North Wales village of Henllan is situated between Denbigh and the Diamond Jubilee City of St Asaph. The village offers a shop/Post Office and a pub, which serves good food. St Asaph was awarded city status in 2012 and is best known for its magnificent white cathedral. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. Nearby Denbigh dates back to the 11th century and boasts the remains of a 13th century castle, perched on a steep hill above the town, with its stunning castle walls walk and commanding some superb views over the surrounding countryside. The town is seeped in Welsh culture and boasts itself as the home of many Welsh literary giants, including 17th century poet and author, Twm o’r Nant, famous for performing his light-hearted ‘anterliwtiau’ interludes or short plays in the area, famous 19th century printer Thomas Gee who established the well-known Gee Press works in the town, and more recently home of the ‘queen of our literature’, Kate Roberts. Denbigh is a busy little town, with a variety of shops and pubs, and a number of events including walking festivals, beer festivals, the Denbigh and Flint Annual Show, the Clay Art Potters Market and a monthly People's market. Henllan is a superb touring base for discovering the sights and history of the Clwydian Range’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, plus the stunning lakes of Llyn Brenig and Llyn Alwen, a haven for cycling, mountain biking, walking and fishing in North Wales. You are also within easy reach of Conwy, Llandudno, Snowdonia, Angelsey and Chester.
