The property

Ruthin 4.1 miles.

Tucked away on the outskirts of Cyffylliog near Ruthin, Denbighshire, is this contemporary, detached lodge surrounded by countryside, Pen Bryn.

Suitable for family breaks, friends or couples, this impressive lodge has underfloor heating, off-road parking, a woodburning stove, and an enclosed garden with hot tub; sure to be a hit all year-round!

Although a classic wooden exterior, inside Pen Bryn you'll find a high-quality finish with excellent facilities for your self-catering holiday.

The utility has a washer/dryer to keep your walking gear fresh.

Moving through the lodge, a bright and spacious, open-plan living area will be the social heart of your holiday; rustle up heart-warming suppers in the well-equipped kitchen with an island for plenty of preparation space.

Two large, bi-fold doors frame tranquil views of the surrounding countryside, and why not let the outside in on summer days?

You can dine inside or step out into your private, enclosed garden for an alfresco affair with the barbecue.

Afterwards, relax in the bubbling hot tub under the stars; you are on holiday after all!

Take refuge indoors on colder nights where a sitting area has a woodburning stove for extra warmth, whilst you choose your favourite film on the Smart TV.

When it's time to retire, freshen up in the contemporary shower room before choosing between the master king-size with access to the garden and an en-suite bathroom, or take the twin room with zip/link feature to suit all guests.

Head into the village of Cyffylliog for dinner out at The Red Lion, but if you're looking for more, the market town of Ruthin is a short journey away.

The Fat Boar and Small Plates Ruthin are just some of the pubs and eateries on offer, whilst attractions include the stunning Nantclwyd y Dre Historic House and Gardens, St Peters Church, and Ruthin Gaol Museum are must-see attractions!

Journey further south to Llangollen for Vale of Llangollen Golf Club, the 14th-century Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens, and why not cruise along the canal with The Horse Drawn Boat Centre?

You can dine with river views at Deeside Cafe Bistro after visiting the fascinating ruins of the 13th-century Castell Dinas Brân, built on the site of an Iron Age hillfort.

There are plenty of public footpaths in the area to venture into the idyllic countryside or head to the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park; there's Zip World Fforest, the Ty'n Llwyn Walking Trail, hiking up Carnedd Llewelyn, and so much more!

The likes of Bala and Betws-y-Coed are within easy reach, but further afield you'll find Roman walls, a beautiful Cathedral, and plenty of restaurants and bars in the historic city of Chester.

You'll be spoilt for choice on your next North Wales adventure at Pen Bryn.

Please note: This property only accepts check-ins on a Friday & Monday.

About the location

RUTHIN

Llangollen 12 miles; Bala 18.5 miles; Chester 25 miles; Betws-y-Coed 30 miles.

The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square. There are many interesting shops and buildings, whilst the Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales), Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople, are also worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on Ruthin’s doorstep with Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance, are the coast, Snowdonia National Park and historic Chester.
