“Cottage was well maintained apart from the double bed which collapsed on our first night.”

We were forced to sleep in the second twin room for one night as the owner could not come the same day. We might have expected some small compensation, but nothing was offered. We have stayed in many cottages and there is almost always some kind of welcome basket which was not the case here.

Thank you for your feedback, I am very sorry about the issue with the bed which I resolved as soon as possible for you, the bracket screw was repaired within 24 hours and I am sorry that you had to sleep in the twin room for one night. “My partner and I really enjoyed our stay in Llwyn Onn.”

It was very comfortable, with everything that you needed. To be honest it had alot more than we expected and it made our stay amazing. We both commented that it was nicely decorated and we really liked the art throughout the house. We have been converted to self catering as it is so much more relaxing to do things at your own pace and to cook for yourself. The only thing I would say, is that the kitchen could have done with more tea towels for a weeks stay. If there was more than 1, then we could not find them. Other than this we could not fault anything else. Thank you

“The property is lovely!”

Very comfortable and nestled in a peace village within easy reach of Betws-y-Coed. The house is very well equipped for a stay. The garden is small but tidy with a good sized bike storage shed. The shop is next door and very handy! Parking is plentiful on the street. There were a few bits which needed a bit more of a clean (bedroom 2 window, under the sofas and behind the bath where the bath mat was stored) and the TV doesn't allow access to the smart functionality, but other than that the property is spot on. There is everything you would need!!! There is loads to do in the area. The owners were in touch ahead of the stay and were very friendly. Overall, a lovely stay in a lovely property. I wouldn't hesitate to book again!

“We really enjoyed our week in North Wales, the cottage is in a great location, for exploring the area and is very comfortable and cosy.”

It is beautifully decorated with quality fixtures, art work reflecting the area and has a homely feel. We didn’t sit out in the back garden but it was pleasant and sunny. Parking was never a problem, we parked outside the front door all week, the shop is really handy next door and we also had a meal at the hotel in the village. The pub is closed at the moment as is being refurbished but villagers told us it is due to open soon. There are some lovely walks from the cottage and the train station is within walking distance. Overall had a great stay and would have liked to have stayed a few days longer, we would recommend this cottage. The only two small issues to mention is the kitchen tap is quite stiff and low for cleaning bigger pots etc and could do with a new large frying pan.

“The Cottage is in a great location in the area of North Wales.”

It is also very close to the local Spar and a hotel is only a short walk away. There was another pub closer but that was temporarily closed whilst we were there. The property was well stocked by way of crockery and utensils, plenty to do on rainy days inside by way of games available - TV channels can be intermittent - plus lots of leaflets available with local attractions and walks etc. Beds were comfortable too. We were disappointed with the standard of cleanliness at the property which has been highlighted to the owners.

The cottage is very well equipped and is very comfortable. From Llwyn Onn, we were able to travel to different places in N. Wales. It was the perfect place to holiday. Dolwyddelan, where the cottage is situated is a pretty place. Llwyn Onn has a Spar convenience store very close by. There's on street parking outside the cottage. “The house was well up to the mark, nicely decorated, well furnished and equipped.”

There is an issue with the garden which falls well below the standards of the house. Clearly the garden was designed as easy maintenance but through lack of minimal care is approaching a degree of dilapidation which makes it unwelcoming to sit in. For those who enjoy a glass of wine in a pleasant, sunny corner of a garden, this garden is currently a non starter.

“Llwyn Onn is a wonderfully comfortable base from which to explore the area.”

It is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and the welcome pack was a lovely treat. The artworks throughout the house are beautiful and there were plenty of books, local guides and games to keep us occupied. There lots of walks from the door and the main attractions of Snowdonia are just a short drive away. Although there isn’t a designated parking spot, this was never an issue and we always got parked next to the house. It was also very handy to have the local shop so near. We would definitely book this house again for our next Welsh holiday.

.... but all I can say if your considering booking .... do it !!! The cottage is exceptionally clean ,well maintained and excellently presented .... in a convenient spot to explore North Wales....... with nice walks nearby should you want to stay local to the cottage ..... If we wernt moving to Blaenau Ffestiniog in 3 weeks this place would definitely be booked again !!! Tho it will be recommended to family n friends who wish to come bug us for more than a weekend !!!

The area of Snowdonia the cottage is set in is very beautiful and ideal for visiting so many places of interest. One thought we had is that given the limited number of TV channels available at the cottage the owners might consider adding an internet streamer box to feed the TV. This would allow visitors to watch any internet channel they subscribe to plus BBC and ITV catch-up. Thank you for allowing us to stay, we would certainly like to visit Llwyn Onn again.

Our only problem was with the settees which are both very low and my husband had great difficulty getting up from them ( had to roll onto the floor and onto his knees to get up!). An armchair would be be much easier as you could use the arms to help getting up!

Instructions on how to use appliances in the house were very useful. Everything was straight forward. Beds are very comfortable. We loved the style, they made it with a very good taste. It had one of the best equipped kitchens of a holiday cottage I have ever experienced - I have got into the habit of taking things like sharp knives with me which were not needed this time. Everything worked and the instructions were clear and comprehensive. It was well sited for walking in various parts of Snowdonia, and I would happily book it again. OK the weather was mixed, but there is nothing that the owners or Sykes could do about that. The only minor correction would be that the nearest pub has been closed and sold off. However there is a hotel with a bar about 200 yards down the road for those who need a drink!

The property

Llwyn Onn is a tastefully decorated, semi-detached cottage in the lovely, quiet village of Dolwyddelan in the Snowdonia National Park.

With the wonders of Snowdonia and some of North Wales' most popular spots so close at hand, this is the perfect base to return to at the end of an adventure-filled day.

Be drawn into the property by its modern sitting room; comfortable seating, a stunning woodburning stove and a wall-mounted TV make it a lovely spot to kick back and relax, a rustic wooden dining table rests to the side.

Head into the galley kitchen to prepare your meals, stylish oak units house all of the necessary appliances to set you up for your stay.

At the top of the neutrally carpeted staircase you will discover a luxuriously tiled bathroom featuring a classy roll-top bath and a separate shower cubicle.

DOLWYDDELAN

Betws-y-Coed 6 miles.

Situated in the beautiful Lledr Valley at the foot of Moel Siabod in the Snowdonia National Park, just 6 miles from the popular tourist centre of Betws-y-Coed, the pretty village of Dolwyddelan is an ideal location from which to explore the whole of this spectacular mountain region. The village has a church dating to around 1500, whilst on the outskirts of the village is the 13th century Dolwyddelan Castle, which boasts magnificent views from its battlements. There are numerous walks in the mountains and the Gwydyr Forest and the railway line along the valley makes it possible to combine a walk one way with a return by train. The Afon Lledr is noted for sea trout and salmon fishing, and visiting golfers are welcome at the 9-hole course at Betws-y-Coed. Dolwyddelan village has a late-opening general store and two pubs serving bar meals, whilst within 8 miles, Betws-y-Coed, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llanrwst offer a wide range of amenities.

Please note due to property management and cleaning team schedules, bookings of 4 nights or less can only start/check in on a Saturday, Tuesday or Wednesday. For bookings of 5, 6 or 7 nights, the property can only accommodate bookings that would be finishing/checking out on a Saturday.
