“Lovely spacious property with unbeatable views.”

Idea location for exploring north Wales and its many attractions. Whilst the property was generally very well presented there were some very minor maintenance (mentioned in other reviews) and facilities issues. However none of these had a detrimental effect on our enjoyment of our holiday. Constructive criticism, provide the following, bath sheets rather than towels, ice cube tray, vegetable peeler, clothes hooks in shower/bathroom, also a number of the baking trays did not fit in the oven.

The views around are breathtaking and there is plenty of places to enjoy visiting. I think for the cost we had expected a little more luxury, it was too a good standard but didn't go that extra mile. We have stayed at many cottages for holidays and seen how the little touches can really enhance your stay. It would have been good if there has been more cutlery, more crockery and non plastic wine glasses. We would recommend to others families and those wanting a good size property.

“We had a 4 day stay at Bryn Mawndy, the house itself has absolutely stunning scenery around.”

Its quiet and the location is very isolated which was refreshing the horse was extremely friendly and my kids really enjoyed seeing her. The house itself was a nice house a few issues we found, the downstairs wasn't so clean, the fridge and freezer were a bit small and ina couple of the bedrooms the handles were broken on the drawers. Overall we really enjoyed the break.

Wasn’t 100% clean the beds looked a little bit grubby. But overall very happy with our stay. Highly recommend staying here, kitchen has everything you need. The only thing that would make it better is adding a hot tub. We would of paid more for that :)

Every window was a picture window with fabulous views of the hills. It was very clean and felt like home with all the soft furnishings. It has everything you need. We enjoyed sitting out and watching the sheep, cows and horse in the field. The location has great access for many activities in Wales and the property is remote and peaceful. We would definitely stay again.

The house was perfect and plenty of space for 8 adults and 2 babies. Nice and clean and great amount of utensils and plates etc. Angela was very responsive and they what three words were a great help. The only thing we struggled with was reading the dials on the oven as they were worn so maybe a little cheat sheet to help but we managed to pull them off the internet. Great property to spend New Years Eve in.

“The cottage was quite remote, it took about 20 to 30 minutes by car in general to get to a supermarket, town, tearoom, walkingtracks.”

Roads are narrow, so a short distance takes a lot of time. On the other hand, the views are superb, and the surroundings are very quiet. The cottage itself is great, with a lot of space, good beds and bathrooms, well equipped kitchen. On arrival we missed a few kitchen items; the problem was solved the same day.

The cleanliness was a bit of a let down (which could be argued is more to do with the previous guests) but was rectified straight away with a quick message to the owner same with a faulty blind. There's a few board games which was a nice surprise and made for a fun couple of evenings, likewise with sitting on the patio in the peace and quiet enjoying the surroundings. All in all a very good holiday at a beautiful place.

“Beautiful house however the cleanliness and amenities of the house was a major let down.”

To arrive to the property and the house be in a terrible state of cleanliness was a huge let down. We had to go round the house and hoover straight away it was that much of a mess (pictures taken for proof), washing the surfaces and floors as it was stained with marks and crumbs everywhere. The twin room with the bathroom near it had a broken lamp, shoved under the bed with the broken pieces left behind so I'm assuming this was only just broken (pictures again for proof). Our daughters twin room window wasn't safe with a faulty latch and a window that didn't close properly at the base so a huge gap was left which would of been terrible in the winter. All bathrooms were not clean at all, full of black mould around the rims and edges and marks all across the glass frames. Extractor fan didn't work in the family bathroom which wasn't helpful with the steam and condensation issues. The tap in the king size bedroom is extremely faulty and was a struggle to use. I'm sorry but the list could go on but I won't bore you with it all!! Beautiful house, stunning views and we had a lovely family holiday within the area but the house and stay was an issue for us.

We enjoy walking and there were a huge range of options for that in this area (be warned - lots of footpaths were overgrown/bulls in unmarked fiels etc!) Property was very well appointed and nicely designed. Plenty of space for everyone. Helpful owners who did everything for us that we needed.

“The property was beautiful in a gorgeous location surrounded by hills and mountains.”

The stairs were a bit steep for my 80 year old mother in law but the toilet downstairs was a god send for her. It was lovely to see the sheep and even better watching the birds of prey flying over and landing in the trees and fields. The roads getting to the property are very narrow so not good for the nervous driver. Everywhere was easy to get to and there was plenty to do.

“A wonderful week was spent at this lovely house.”

It is in the most picturesque rural location which was so peaceful, with beautiful views from all windows. With lots to do locally we spent the week visiting the coast and local national trust properties. Great house for families to get together. Lots of space. My only recommendation would be to possibly have a small box of simple toys for little children, my daughter loves that when we’ve been elsewhere but by no means essential!

“Amazing modernised, clean, spacious property right in the middle of the Welsh countryside.”

Views spectacular. It is quite rural, which we love, therefore if visiting tourist areas on coast, will be at least 40 min drive. We did longest Zip line (Zipworld) and Snowdon railway (both 1hr away), another Zipworld location (FForest) high ropes etc (20mins away). Bewys-y-Coed (20 mins away) has good eating out options (reminds me of Aviemore in Scotland). Cottage well worth the money and would have loved to stay longer. I'm sure we will return. Only very slight negative as a little noise transference from neighbouring cottage to connected bedroom that had guests for a few days (Up until 1am).

The location is also isolated, we chose this property for those reasons and the views from the patio area are wonderful! The driveway is very spacious. The house has pretty much everything you would need for a stay with family or a group to visit North Wales. Those living in a big busy city will love the peace and quiet this house and the whole of North Wales has to offer. Waking up to nature of birds chirping and lambs/sheep's grazing the grass. Our group hiked Snowdon, visited Portmeirion, Llandudo, Aqueduct canoeing, Stack lighthouse, Bala & Bodnant garden during our stay. Thoroughly recommend this house.

“What a wonderful house in gorgeous countryside!”

Everything is to an extremely high standard and there is pretty much everything there you could want. There were five of us, aged up to 92 and all were so impressed. The beds were extremely comfortable, the bathrooms spotless, with excellent showers and loads of hot water. The kitchen/diner was huge and looked brand new and it was perfect for sitting around and chatting after a long dinner. The second sitting room, with its huge sofa and log burner provided a very comfy spot to doze in front of the after a long day out and about. We really could not have asked for more. Only two things to be aware of - the stairs are quite steep, so keep in mind if any guests are older, or less able to climb. The drive up to the house is on very narrow, fairly steep country lanes and it is quite a trek to get off the hill. Not for the faint hearted. And not easy to pop out for a pint of milk - so just be prepared.

“A fantastic holiday house.”

The house was exactly as listed. We loved sitting on the patio watching the panaoramic view. Watching buzzards every day and a red kite fly right across below us were treats for us. The new drive way was appreciated. The extremely comfortable sofas, two lounges and lots of space meant we could be together when we wanted but also had room to spread out.

House size was perfect for us. The only niggles we have were that we had to wash the plates and mugs again as they were dirty, food cupboards had crumbs from the previous people and they left very little handwash. However it was a great stay and had everything that we needed there (drying racks, coat hangers,l large oven,plenty of space to relax. The owner was very fast when the toaster blew a fuse which was very reassuring. The bedrooms are good layout and a spacious family bathroom. We got a Asda delivery on the first night which made it easier and went on plenty of days out which were easy to get to in this location. Also I would say to take a kite, field next to the house was perfect.

Farm traffic use this road. Sometimes difficult to negotiate past other vehicles. Otherwise the property could not be faulted.

“This was the most peaceful holiday we have ever had, even allowing for having three children with us - 7 year old, 6 year old and 2 year old.”

The "cottage" is so far away from any neighbours, main roads and aircraft flight paths that it can be almost silent at night. Having said that, with reasonable transport, one can get to most interesting parts of North Wales within half an hour or so. The "cottage" is actually an extremely well-converted farmhouse of considerable size. As stated, we were a party of four adults and three children and still had a "spare room". The twin living rooms were wonderful when the weather was less than clement and the patio superb in good weather. We found the kitchen to be second-to-none with superb facilities and ample supplies of all necessary items. Our initial "gripe" was the difficulty my car had in getting up the considerable slope to the site, but this wasn't so bad without all our luggage on subsequent days. However, I would not recommend anyone with low profile tyres to attempt it - I have more than six inches ground clearance! Prior to our holiday, we were kept informed at all stages about the precautions to take, what we should be aware of and any further information that we needed, including excellent directions. Altogether, I cannot praise this site enough; we had a wonderful week and all of us, children included, were very sad to have to leave.

We visited Bala, Conway and Betws-y-coed. A hot tub on the patio would make this place even better. We had a barbecue one evening. We found the time went too quickly.

The house is gorgeous, the view is stunning, all the facilities and little touches were just perfect! I stayed here with my parents, husband and 4 kids ranging from 6months -12years and it suited everyone. We loved it and would stay again in a heartbeat. We stayed for 7 days and had wonderful weather and every day was different experience for us, Seeing Swallow Falls, Visiting Portmeirion, Climbing Snowdonia, Wandering around the gorgeous town of Llangollen, having a blast on the forest coaster ride at Zip World and walking along the canal to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The property

Set in a stunning and isolated rural location, surrounded by the owner's fields and on a working farm is this wonderful and contemporary farmhouse, Bryn Mawndy.

The cottage is near the peaceful North Wales town of Corwen and on the edge of the pretty little village of Melin y Wig.

Slightly further afield is the historic town of Ruthin.

Ideal for a family or group wanting to retreat to a peaceful and secluded countryside location, with panoramic views and access to many local amenities, Bryn Mawndy is accessed via a track that leads up and over a hill solely to the farm, with ample parking available for at least five cars.

Entering the property into the hallway, head into the open-plan and contemporary-styled, well-equipped kitchen/diner, a bright and spacious area with white tiled flooring, wood-effect grey cabinets, a large Rangemaster cooker for preparing all of your meals and a wooden dining table with seating for eight, ideal for gathering as a group and enjoying dinner together, making plans for the following day.

There are patio doors which open up onto a patio at the side of the property, providing fabulous countryside views and offering an ideal space for grabbing a morning coffee and enjoying a peaceful moment to yourself in the sunshine.

There's just one step up from the kitchen/diner into the sitting room, which has two leather sofas placed around the woodburning stove, giving the room a lovely cosy feel, while the TV in the corner can provide light entertainment.

A second sitting room offers alternate lounging space, with a huge leather L-shaped sofa offering seating for eight and another woodburning stove to snuggle up in front of and get toasty in an evening.

There is a utility room with a washing machine and dryer, for your convenience, along with a cloakroom.

Heading upstairs, you will find four bedrooms; two king-size bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms and two twins, all decorated with a simplistic, light and bright theme, with a spacious feel and storage for all of your belongings, and all offer spectacular rural views.

The family bathroom and two en-suites have a similar contemporary design, with grey tiling and more wonderful countryside views, while the main bathroom has a choice of bath with shower over, so you can start each day however you prefer.

The property is surrounded by the owner's fields and you are welcome to roam the field at the front of the property, while the town of Corwen offer plenty of amenities and things to do, including a selection of pubs, restaurants cafés, greengrocers, bakeries, butchers and a children’s play area.

Set within the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this picturesque town has plenty of idyllic walks to partake in, including several riverside strolls due to its excellent proximity to five rivers that all meet in Corwen.

Foodies will appreciate a visit to the nearby Rhug Estate, one of the UK's largest organic properties and why not dine at one of Wales' finest restaurants, Tyddyn Llan in Llandrillo?

Head to Llangollen and enjoy a scenic ride on the Llangollen Heritage Steam Railway or take a horse-drawn canal boat from to Pontcysyllte, Britain’s largest aqueduct and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
