“Anybody looking to book here, read all the low star reviews first because none of them are wrong.”

Go on over to trip advisor reviews where I shared in pictures just some of the things we had to endure. 1 hour after checking in we were looking for other properties to go to, but there was none. There was no point contacting the owners as other than a complete refurbishment there was nothing they could do. Don't let this property ruin your holiday like it did ours.

Thank you for your comments, the property has had an end of season extra clean and was assessed again by Sykes in October 2024 . The shower curtain in place at the time was in good order and there was no damp found. The welcome pack at the property will in future include a request to guests to please open a window when showering to prevent any condensation from building up, to prevent this from occurring again. The bathroom was checked thoroughly, the bathroom blind has also been checked and any remedial action has been completed. The shower sealant has also been redone. No odour of any damp was found during the assessment. We will also be including further information in the welcome pack to advise guests how to use the multi fuel stove for the back boiler that fuels the wall radiator heating and extra electric heaters have also now been provided. We would have been happy to assist immediately with any of your concerns at the time if we were made aware of any concern but unfortunately did not receive feedback until after you had checked out. Two owner phone contact numbers are provided to guests pre arrival and Sykes Cottages also has dedicated communication avenues for any guest in a property who need assistance and we are sorry that we were not given the opportunity to help you at the time. The property

Gwenallt is an original mill workers cottage dating from the 1700s. The mill still stands in the field behind.

It has been kept in character as much as possible.

The multi-fuel burner is set in the original stone inglenook.

Electric radiators also.

Beamed ceilings low in places.

There is a double room plus a single room for a third guest.

Pretty private garden with mature weeping willow tree and table and chairs.

TV/DVD player, microwave,toaster, oven, fridge, freezer,washing machine.

With pubs only a short distance away, a leisurely afternoon can be spent here, plus there are also wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, a cafe serving afternoon tea, the Anglesey Race Track is nearby.

Just a short drive away are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn, Aberffraw, and Cable Bay.

Rhosneigr is also worthy of a visit.

The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path passes nearby and the kids will love the activities at Foel Farm Park and Anglesey Sea Zoo.

A unique holiday experience.

About the location

MALLTRAETH

Newborough 2 miles; Rhosneigr 8 miles.

The small village of Malltraeth lies in the south west corner of Anglesey, at the head of the long inlet formed by the Cefni Estuary and close to the popular Newborough Forest and Warren sand dunes. Malltraeth Pool and the magnificent sweep of marshes and sand dunes, which stretch south to Llanddwyn Island, are all part of a National Nature Reserve. The whole area is renowned for its birdlife and Malltraeth was once home to the famous wildlife artist Charles F Tunnicliffe. There are wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, which has a pub, a cafe serving afternoon tea and a chip shop (also selling basic items/newspapers etc). Close by are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn (reputedly the 4th best in Britain), Aberffraw, and Cable Bay, or head to Rhosneigr, which is renowned for its all year round watersports facilities.

Note: There is slightly reduced head height in the bathroom and on the stairs.
Note: A multi-fuel burner with back boiler is set in the original stone inglenook in the lounge/diner. The multi fuel burner back boiler fuels the wall radiators throughout the property. Power and a coal/log starter pack for the multi fuel burner inc. in rent, further logs would need to be purchased locally by guests. The property does also have some portable electric radiators.
