“A very unpleasant stay - so bad that we had to leave early :(( Unfortunately this cottage was not up to scratch, I made the booking so that our whole family could spend time together as we live at opposite ends of the country, I was embarrassed when they all arrived.”

On arrival the house looks tired, a number of the blinds had come off the rods and were hanging half up/ half down, the front entrance is unused with mail and papers piled up, pot plants surround the entrance - the plants are dead! The house smells of cigarette smoke and is very grubby, there are cobwebs and dead insects throughout, the carpets are very dirty. The oven, hob and fridge were very dirty but there were no cloths to clean these - we did our best with kitchen roll, eventually ...

The oven, hob and fridge were very dirty but there were no cloths to clean these - we did our best with kitchen roll, eventually choosing to eat our meals out! The family room is hazardous !! A tower extension has been used to plug in TV, DVD, Soundbar and Xbox - there are wires trailing along the floor to this - dogs and small children loved this tangle, adults not so much! The Xbox doesn't work and the jumble of remotes is a nightmare. The downstairs loo is damp and smelly with a basket of dirty towels in it from previous guests. The upstairs bathrooms are simply hideous. Shower room -Black mould on the walls and ceiling, the shower frame is filthy with gunge all around the base. The toilet is stained and the floor sticky, broken blind more black mould and some grubby sticky furniture. The main bathroom - we couldn't even use this room as the smell was so bad - not sure if it was urine or drains, whatever it was it was unbearable. More black mould and sticky flooring. This was booked as a 4 bedroom property but one of the bedrooms was padlocked and out of bounds. The other 3 were made up with clean bedding but the rooms were grubby, cobwebs, dead insects, dirty carpet, broken blinds and filthy windows.

Capelulo is a small village on the North Wales coast between Penmaenmawr and Conwy. The village is in an elevated position with both mountain and sea views and is home to a pub and an Austrian restaurant. Set on the side of the Tal-Y-Fan mountain, Capelulo enjoys stunning views across Conwy Bay to Llandudno, Anglesey and the Irish Sea, and if you are lucky, dolphins can sometimes been see playing in the bay. Capelulo is just a couple of miles from Penmaenmawr, an old quarrying town now adapted into a delightful community stretching along this stunning coastline, yet retaining much of its Victorian architecture, with many local pubs, restaurants and shops, a superb golf course and golden, sandy beaches.
