“Unfortunately, I have given a low rating due to a few things during our our stay.”

On arrival we noticed scaffolding on the adjoining property and the next morning before 8am we were woken up by drilling and hammering right next to bedroom window, this was going on until we left for a day out. A neighbour informed us work been going on for a while, Sykes were not aware so couldn't let us know, which has happened before. On arriving back we found had no central heating/water so couldn't have a wash/shower that evening or the following morning. I text owner but didn't get a reply till the following morning. I was advised "The owner is sorry to hear that the heating stopped on your final evening, there was enough gas supplied for your stay, however the heating had been over-ridden and increased causing the gas to empty faster". I am aghast that It seems we had a quota of gas to use even though paid £350 for a 2 night stay. All we did was turn thermostat up from 14 degrees. To say it ruined out stay at the cottage is an understatement.
