Bodior Lodge is an exceptional, quirky sophisticated cottage, which has recently undergone a terrific refurbishment, near Holyhead in Wales.

It is a true haven for families, and their furry-friends, who are seeking a delightful retreat in Anglesey, near Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), or seeking a coastal escape!

From the second you lay eyes on this delightful white cottage, an inviting atmosphere greets you, with its neatly fenced front lawn adding to the charm.

A quaint private driveway is available for parking, perfect for loading up the car before a day packed with adventures.

As you step inside, take off your boots and hang up your coats before exploring your new holiday abode with ease thanks to the single-storey layout.

The living areas include a brand new kitchen where you cook up your favourite dishes before gathering round the dining table to share in the meal and some friendly conversation.

The charming brick fireplace in the living/dining room is undoubtedly the star of the show.

Beneath it, a toasty woodburning stove sets the perfect atmosphere, inviting you to unwind on the corner sofa while catching up on your favourite shows.

Meanwhile, the dining area provides a lovely space to reflect on the day’s escapades.

Completing the living areas is a handy utility room which will be most helpful for any longer stays.

The interior is full of exceptional William Morris themed wallpapers which give this cottage a truly personal and homely feeling that comforts you throughout your stay.

The garden is beautifully maintained, offering inviting seating to make al fresco dining a delightful experience.

Bask in the summer sunshine or, for a touch of luxury all year round, indulge in the hot tub, perfect for a relaxing soak, whatever the weather.

Once it's time to tuck in for the night, three well-appointed bedrooms are waiting for you including a king-size room, a double and one single, which are serviced by a delightful bathroom with a P-shaped bath for when you fancy a hot soak.

Bodior Lodge is ideally located just meters from the public footpath that forms part of the Anglesey Coastal Footpath, offering guests easy access to stunning coastal walks and breathtaking views, nature enthusiasts will appreciate the woodland surrounding the cottage, home to frequent sightings of red squirrels, guests are invited to enjoy the magic of these delightful creatures by replenishing the red squirrel feeder with the hazelnuts provided in the shed – a perfect way to engage with local wildlife during your stay.

Whether you're a keen hiker or simply looking to relax in a peaceful, nature-filled setting, this cottage is the ideal retreat.

Once you're settled in, headed out to explore Rhoscolyn, located on the stunning Anglesey coast, that offers a tranquil escape with beautiful beaches, scenic views, and outdoor activities.

Here, you can explore the peaceful beach with a walk along the coastline, head a bit further to the hidden gem of Borth Wen with pristine sands and calm waters or even walk through the Anglesey Coastal Path that runs through Rhoscolyn offering scenic walks with breathtaking views of cliffs, bays, and wildlife.

For a bit of local history you can head to St. Gwenfaen's Well where you can take in the views in a spot that provides both historical interest and a beautiful, quiet setting for relaxation.

A short drive will take you to South Stack Lighthouse, which offers you a tremendous viewpoint from above and you can reach Holyhead Mountain by car, which offers fantastic hiking trails and panoramic views of the island and beyond.

For the more active ones of the group, you can try watersports like kayaking, paddleboarding, or sailing on the waters around Rhosneigr, or you can also enjoy fishing if you’re looking for a more laid-back outdoor experience.

A big day out is available at Beaumaris, located on the opposite side of the island, is home to the Beaumaris Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This and its Victorian architecture make it ideal for a day trip!

You can also see the wildlife that is abundant in Anglesey such as seals, puffins, and other seabirds.

You can take a boat tour or visit one of the many wildlife reserves on the island, such as the Anglesey Sea Zoo or the South Stack Cliffs RSPB Reserve.

A little further out is Plas Newydd that boasts beautiful gardens and a stunning historical house making it an interesting spot to learn about the history of this gorgeous province.

Finally, end your travels with a visit to the Rhoscolyn local, The White Eagle, where you and your four-legged companion can relax and enjoy some excellent food and drinks.

RHOSCOLYN

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 3 miles; Holyhead 5 miles.

Valley is a popular village on the north west coast of Anglesey. It is on the Anglesey Coastal Path with plenty of wonderfully scenic walks. The village boasts a variety of shops and restaurants, two hotels and a café, and is only four miles from the renowned beach resort of Trearddur Bay and Rhoscolyn. Here you will find a beautiful sweep of grassy coastline with rocky coves and award-winning sandy beaches, as well as a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants. Other nearby attractions include the South Stack Lighthouse with its RSPB Reserve, the port of Holyhead, with its regular ferry links with Dublin in Ireland, and easy access to the coast road around Anglesey with delightful beaches to visit and a host of other attractions to please the most discerning of visitors.
