“The location was great but we found the following problems.”
There was damp in the double bedroom and also in the twin, the twin was actually dripping water from the ceiling. The mattresses have all seen better days and could do with upgrading. The sofa's looked comfy until you sat on them, the two seater felt like it had collapsed and again could do with replacing. The rug in the lounge was unsuitable and a trip hazard for young children. The hob had one ring not working. The shower screen wouldn't stay in place allowing water to pour onto the floor.
In response to this negative feedback we would like to comment as below. We could have sorted some of the issues out at the time of stay if they would have contacted us.
1. Double bedroom - there is now no damp there but we are continuing to sort the remaining stain. See Errata message from Sykes-
To keep you up to date, since booking your holiday there have been some changes to the property you are staying in; There is a stain on the ceiling in the double bedroom. Please don't be alarmed that there is a leak as it is just a stain. The owner's are looking at getting this removed but they are unable to do this until after your booking has passed. If you wish to call us to discuss this further, you can do this by calling 01244 345700 (option 1 and option 2).
2. Twin bedroom - we have never seen, or been told of any water dripping from the ceiling in this bedroom but will check and sort out on next changeover.
3. Sofa and matresses - again first complaint. Will replace sofa ASAP and will check matresses accordingly.
4. Hob - was made aware that one out of the four was not working.
5. Shower - we didn’t know about the problem with the shower screen but will look into it.
