“The bones of this flat are great and its location really couldn't be better, but it needs attention.”

The sitting room and kitchen are absolutely fine, and the bathrooms do the job (though the en-suite shower leaks badly), but the bedrooms - particularly the master bedroom - are pretty disappointing. The double bed has the hardest mattress we've ever slept on; it was very uncomfortable to the point where one of us slept on the daybed in the second bedroom. The chest of drawers in the master bedroom is starting to fall apart (there was a piece hanging off the bottom) and it just all felt rather ...

The chest of drawers in the master bedroom is starting to fall apart (there was a piece hanging off the bottom) and it just all felt rather shabby. The wifi - which the paperwork in the flat described as something like "high quality" - doesn't stretch beyond the kitchen, so you've no hope of streaming anything in either bedroom; the irony of there being a Bluetooth-enabled mirror in the en-suite bathroom was not lost on us. Lastly, the noise from the flat above was almost intolerable at times. We were under the impression children weren't allowed in either flat, but there were children in the flat above us for the week we were there and the noise was difficult to deal with, particularly in the mornings and late at night. We were also very aware of our footsteps on the wooden floors and the impact on the flat below us. Knowing now that children are allowed in the top flat, that fact alone means we would not use Waters Edge again.

Wow… were you having a bad day when you wrote this? We are not going to reply to each individual issue, basically because we neither understand nor can identify them, we realise that all guests are not the same and have different preferences, so we do try to supply quality along with durability and functionality to the best we can within restrictive perimeters, I must say we are at a loss to why one of you would choose to sleep on a daybed which wasn’t made up for sleeping on, when there were 2 further beds made up ready, if the double bed wasn’t to your chosen firmness. This apartment has been a holiday let for over 5 years and we have always been overwhelmed by the lovely guest feedback, occasionally inevitably issues do crop up, but guests usually let us know whilst they are staying and we immediately get these dealt with for our guests. We don’t need to sing the praises of this apartment, we will let our other guests do that for us: In July this year we received an award from Sykes Holiday Cottages for receiving so much excellent customer feedback from guests, which they said was a fantastic achievement. All the other guests who stayed in the same month as you gave us 100% good feedback, for the same facilities. In-fact all guests who stayed over the last 12 months have given us 100% good feedback (including all the ones who chose not to have their feedback published), except for yourselves who gave 56%. Many guests have repeat stays at this property in-fact throughout 2024 over 20% of our bookings were guests who had stayed previously, some several times over the last 5 years. We believe all of the above speaks for itself. Property Owner

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

Note: As per most properties in Beaumaris parking is not available at Gadlys House, parking can sometimes be found on nearby streets or is available at the car park on The Green for a small daily/weekly charge.
