“This was a family holiday of 6 adults so accommodation picked accordingly.”

I must say that this was the best accommodation by a mile we have stayed in over the years of using sykes cottage’s. The house was presented on arrival beautifully making it instantly feel special. The rooms were all lovely sizes and the kitchen was outstanding. It was equipped with everything you would need so much so we cooked a roast for 6 on day 2 with no problems. The outdoor shower for the dog was brilliant but now he feels spoiled so will be a struggle back home

Thank you! We’re so pleased that you had a great stay and the cottage had everything you needed. We’re big fans of spoiling dogs, and very glad he enjoyed his stay, too! Property Owner

The property

Enjoying an enviable position within the rural village of Dolwyddelan, surrounded by the rolling mountains and countryside of the Snowdonia National Park is Cooper's Rest (Gorffwysfa Coopers), a spacious semi-detached property.

This exceptional self-catering accommodation has been designed with a group in mind, perfect for families, friends and avid ramblers seeking a place to call home as they explore this part of North Wales.

Enter the property and discover the entrance hallway, where you can kick off muddy walking boots before taking a right turn into the sitting room, where a woodburning stove set within an exposed brick surround takes centre stage.

Light up the fire to set a cosy ambiance before flicking on the Smart TV to browse the channels, as you curl up on the plush sofas.

From here, a step down will bring you into the light-filled kitchen, where along the whitewashed walls, inky blue painted cabinets are topped by solid wood worksurfaces and contemporary splash backs, all of which are complemented by the large windows providing views across the rooftops and towards the rolling hills.

The range of quality appliances arranged in a contemporary assortment are certain to encourage a spot of home-cooking, and the high vaulted ceilings make a striking element to this room and offer a spacious spot for you all together to enjoy each other’s company over dinner and drinks.

The master suite can be found on the ground floor, where quality linens drape over a plush king-size bed, where each morning you can wake up and enjoy the views from the patio doors before freshening up within the sleek en-suite shower room.

Venture up the stairs to find two further double bedrooms, both boasting a refreshing ambiance and good wardrobe storage, and are served by a beautiful family bathroom, featuring a light controlled mirror and a shower over bath.

During the balmy afternoons, look forward to opening up the French doors within the kitchen/diner, allowing a seamless integration of the outside in and provides access to the large lawn area, where the children can play and your canine companion can stretch their legs, whilst the rolling countryside view continues to captivate.

Meander through the rural village to discover its array of amenities, including a shop and two pubs serving food, as well as an impressive church dating to around 1500 or venture slightly out of the village to visit the 13th Century Dolwyddelan Castle, which boasts magnificent views from its battlements.

Those bringing two-wheels along can explore the network of paths within the nearby Gwydyr Forest or keen walkers can don their walking boots to explore the surrounding countryside or endeavour on a trek up Wales’ highest mountain.

More outdoor pursuits can be found at Zip World near Bethesda, where you will find Velocity, the longest zip run in Europe or pay a visit to Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you will discover Titan, the first four-person zip line.

More leisurely afternoon can be found in the form of fishing on the Afon Lledr, noted for its trout and salmon fishing opportunities or enjoying a round of golf at the 9-hole course at Betws-y-Coed.

Betws-y-Coed itself is well-worth a visit and is home to a plethora of independent shops and eateries, and is where you will find the pretty Fairy Glen, whilst the historic town of Conwy lies slightly further afield and provides access to the sublime North Wales coast.

Bring your loved ones to share a memorable holiday in Cooper's Rest.
