“Dove cottage is really a home from home and in such a convenient location for exploring Wales.”

A lovely cosy cottage, very good shower and extremely comfortable beds. The village is lovely, all the locals are really friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting both the pubs, unfortunately the black lion isn't dog friendly but we sat outside most days as they do have a covered seating area. The swan is a great little pub serving box meals that you can eat in or take away and it is dog friendly inside. Highly recommend the cafe as you enter the village, we enjoyed the breakfasts and take ...

The property

This stunning end-terrace property in the heart of the village of Llanfair Talhaiarn lives up to its name, with a delightful dove box nestled in the enclosed front garden.

Dove Cottage is a fabulous property, in a prime location for exploring the coast of North Wales.

Located in the centre of the pretty village of Llanfair Talhaiarn, which sits on the banks of the River Elwy, it’s the perfect place for an adventure packed holiday with the whole family, not forgetting the dog.

Surrounded by countryside walks and a tranquil atmosphere, and within short walking distance of two pubs and a Post Office/general store in the village centre as well as a café serving sandwiches and homemade cakes, you can enjoy a varied holiday with your family or friends.

There's a lot to offer within the village, with a play park for the little ones to enjoy, two pubs, one offering local beers and the other serving good food and Sunday lunches.

As you enter the front of the property kick off your boots in the utility and grab a cluster of logs, before heading into the kitchen where you can light up the wood burner within the inglenook, the perfect centre piece to warm you on a chilly winter day.

The kitchen has a real rustic feel to it, with exposed wooden beams, a Belfast sink, and a spacious wooden bench for dining, it reminds you of the true roots of the Welsh countryside.

Once you’ve snacked away in the kitchen, head into the sitting area where you can continue to cosy up in front of another fire amongst a feature stone wall, a traditional contrast to the fresh interior fittings of the room.

Head upstairs where you can find two bedrooms, both perfect to accommodate the family both a king and a twin room just across the hall from each other, it’s a wonderful family-friendly layout that also offers a wonderful place to retire to each evening. In the mornings there is no better way to wake up than to sit amongst the stone walls of the property surrounded by shrubbery and the sound of bird song. For a more adventure filled day for the whole family, take a trip to the market town of Conwy, hosting an array of tourist attractions from the Smallest House in Great Britain to the Welsh Mountain Zoo, there’s something for all the family here, as well as offering a beautiful quay and scenic landscapes.

You are also close to the seaside town of Abergele, which offers walks along the beach and a chance to brush up on your history at Gwrych Castle and Gardens.

You can enjoy day trips to Llandudno and Colwyn Bay, each with plenty to suit all tastes, including the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Venue Cymru and the two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme. With so much to see and do in and around the area, you will find this the ideal break here at Dove cottage.
