“The potential at this property is massive.”

Unfortunately the property was freezing on arrival, it did warm up fairly quickly once we had lit the fire and turned the heating on. Unfortunately the property was freezing on arrival, it did warm up fairly quickly once we had lit the fire and turned the heating on. Had no lighting (other than standard lamps that we had to manoeuvre around the property in order that we coyld see in the evening) in the main TV sitting area and a very strange crispy (yes crispy) carpet in the bedrooms. We had to hunt out the information book (which didnt really contain any useful info ) and there was neither a welcome basket (which is generally the norm) or any Xmas decorations despite us staying on Xmas Eve Day. The walkway to the property was extremely slippy - to the point of dangerous, considering we chose this property for its one level living space as we had 2 80+ year old in our party. 2 of our party did slip and slide and we would recommend that a grip non slip surface is added as soon as possible. It is a good spacious property but a little care to the details would ensure we would make a return visit. The area itself is stunning.

    - Lucy, December 2024

Hi Lucy, many thanks for your feedback...I will endeavour to answer your points. Heating - you will appreciate that a large historic Welsh house on in December may not be as warm as a modern house, but as you mentioned the heating works extremely well. I also gave you the key to access logs for the wood-burner logs (normally chargeable) to keep the house warm. Crispy carpets - These are special sisal carpets made of natural breathable fibres (moth proof), ideal for a rental property, rather than synthetic fibres. They are not soft underfoot but better for the environment. Lighting - There are ceiling lights in every room apart from the sitting room that has more discreet lighting. The lamps in the sitting room are placed next to chairs for reading. Welcome basket - we have never offered this, and if we did, it would be mentioned on the particulars. Xmas - decorations - we have never been asked to put up Christmas decorations for guests but had you asked we would have been happy to accommodate this request. Slippery walkway - We have noted your comments and as health and safety is important we will cover this with walking wire to eliminate any risk to future guests. Alas, it's disappointing to hear of your issues especially as you cracked the glass of the electric hob in the kitchen and also broke a utility room door. Sykes will be in touch to discuss this matter. We always welcome back careful and respectful guests. Property Owner
