The property

This delightful and unique 17th century detached cottage is positively oozing with charm and is situated on the outskirts of the village of Talybont in Gwynedd.

This cottage has lovely sea views and is truly a superb location for exploring and taking in the marvellous varied scenery, perfect for small families, friends or even a romantic break for two.

The cottage has been lovingly renovated over the years with many original features retained and restored, with wonderful rustic charm the cottage is fused with modern, contemporary style interior which combines elegantly to create a magical holiday home.

The cosy lounge has an impressive stone inglenook fireplace with original bread oven and the warming woodburner is simply perfect for cosy evenings on the comfy sofa relaxing together after a great day exploring.

The garden room has a dining area and is a wonderful light and airy room enjoying pleasant views over the garden.

It is a lovely room to socialise together and plan the day’s activities over breakfast at the dining table and there is also a cosy sofa by the woodburner, creating a lovely quiet spot to sit back and relax with a book or watch birdlife in the garden.

The kitchen is small but perfectly formed and well-equipped for your needs.

The pretty double bedroom is beautifully presented with a wonderful whitewashed stone wall to the front and impressive thick window sills with feature slate and wooden window shutters that’s just adds to the charm.

This is a lovely room to wake up in as you can open the shutters and enjoy the sea views.

The second bedroom has bunk beds suitable for adults and children and again enjoys lovely whitewashed stone walls and even has a high Velux window, possibly good for a little star gazing if you’re lucky enough to be in the top bunk!

The contemporary shower room completes the accommodation with a modern suite and power shower.

Completing this beautiful cosy cottage is the garden.

To the rear of the cottage there is a gravelled driveway with a raised lawn area and steps up to a further patio area, perfect for alfresco dining with a glass of something cool and refreshing while taking in the distant sea views.

There is also secure storage space available for bikes, surfboards, canoes or fishing equipment!

Within 5 minutes’ walk of the cottage there a country pub, and restaurant and if you fancy a walk to the beach there are bars and restaurants to enjoy too.

The cottage is well positioned on the edge of the village of Talybont nearby to lovely walks along the Afon Ysgethin River through the woods with an abundance of wildlife.

The cottage is also only a 10 minute walk from the wonderful sandy beach perfect for long walks, building sand castles and taking a dip.

The next village of Dyffryn Ardudwy is a mile down the road where there are two pubs, cafes, a garage, shop and local butchers and also a Post Office for sending the post card!

The bustling seaside town of Barmouth is under five minutes’ drive away where there are plenty of shops, bars, activities and sites to see and enjoy.

There are some amazing walks from the door and Cwm Nantcol, Cwm Bychan and the Roman Steps up to the well-known Rhinog mountain range are all close by.

The beaches along this stretch of the North Wales coastline are beautiful with miles and miles of sandy shores and there are many cycling trails to enjoy.

This fantastic location also boasts good golf courses and medieval castles such as Harlech Castle just four miles away.

This cottage is wonderful for a get away-from-it-all break and an ideal base to explore this part of North Wales and the Snowdonia National Park any time of year.

This popular coastal holiday village lies between one of the most picturesque resorts on the Welsh coast, Barmouth, and the World Heritage Site of Harlech, which are all surrounded by the unrivalled splendour of the Snowdonia National Park. Talybont hosts an Italian reastaurant, a riverside pub and a large sandy beach ideal for family fun. An excellent base for coastal and hill walking, cycling, sea and freshwater fishing and all watersports. The traditional seaside town of Barmouth boasts an enormous sandy Blue Flag beach, perfect for families. A paradise for walkers, climbers and cyclists, Mount Cader Idris is nearby, the second highest mountain in Wales. More adventurous attractions at Blaenau Ffestiniog are the renowned Zip World Titan, Bounce Below and Zip Caverns, a subterranean system of trampolines and zip wires deep underground. Surf Snowdonia, Bala lake which offers a variety of watersports and Coed-y-Brenin with its fantastic mountain bike trails are also nearby. An abundance of wildlife along the Mawddach Estuary, trout fishing in mountain lakes, Harlech Castle, St David's golf course and Portmeirion Italienate Village - just a handful of the many superb attractions within easy reach of this lovely area.
