This delightful and spacious stone-built detached cottage is situated next to the owner’s Victorian villa within their 6 acres of land in the small rural village of Rhydymain near Dolgellau.

Dating back to the 1700s this lovely property is ideal for families or friends looking for a peaceful country retreat in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.

The property has been attractively furnished throughout and combines modern convenience with original features such as slate flooring/windowsills, and wood lintels.

The property also has notable eco-friendly credentials with its use of biomass for heating and photovoltaic panels generating electricity.

Through the side entrance there is a versatile utility room, including a separate toilet that leads to a characterful kitchen/diner, both have the original slate flooring.The kitchen has an original cast iron range, but for decorative purposes only.

The kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances and a dining table that ensures family meals can be enjoyed together.

The comfortable sitting room has a warming wood burning stove ensuring a cosy stay, whatever the time of year.

Stairs lead up to a small split-level landing where three individual staircases of three steps lead to the two well-appointed bedrooms and to the modern family bathroom.

On warmer evenings open the patio doors from the sitting room to the enclosed slate patio area.

Here you can dine alfresco whilst soaking up the fabulous countryside views.

Being situated in the fantastic Snowdonia National Park there are walks from the door of this cottage, and cyclists will enjoy the famous mountain bike routes at nearby Coed-y-Brenin.

The town of Dolgellau is a short drive away and is home to a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there are excellent restaurants in many of the nearby coastal resorts.

Visit the beautiful Mawddach Estuary with its array of birds and wildlife or discover glorious sandy beaches, slate caverns, historic castles, golf, fishing and scenic narrow gauge railways.

A well-located cottage whatever you choose to do.

Rhydymain is a small rural village situated in the heart of southern Snowdonia, surrounded by the spectacular scenery of wooded hills and mountains. The village is famous for its association with Richard Burton's first ever film, The Last Days of Dolwyn and there is a blue plaque in the village to commemorate this. The wonderful Cader Idris Mountain Range and Coed Y Brenin Forest Park, which provide some of the best mountain biking in Europe, are both nearby, while relaxing days out on the soft sandy beaches of Barmouth, Fairbourne and Aberdovey are within easy reach. The nearby town of Dolgellau offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there are excellent restaurants in many of the nearby coastal resorts. A location for quiet outdoor recreation with superb scenery, mountains, forests, waterfalls, castles and beaches all close to hand.
