“Lovely to find a cottage with secure bike storage and an electric car charger in Dolgellau.”

The house was comfortable, the views across to Cader Idris were stunning and the neighbours were really friendly and welcoming. On a hill above the town so a steep road back up. Superb local bakery and butchers makes it worthwhile though! Hosts couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful. A lovely place.

It is in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, on the edge of the market town of Dolgellau.

Luxuriously appointed throughout, providing light and airy contemporary accommodation, this house is perfect for a large family or groups of friends to spend quality time together.

Climb the steps to access the property, then venture into the spacious sitting room, with plush sofas, a woodburning stove and Smart TV, a splendid spot to watch your favourite shows or movies with loved ones after a day of exploring the local area.

This wonderful house also benefits from a private balcony to enjoy time outside as well as inside the property. Allow the designated chef to whip up a tasty meal in the full-equipped kitchen and gather in the light and airy dining room to tuck in; or move mealtimes outside and enjoy the wonderful mountain views at the table on the balcony.

When the night rolls in, choose from one of four beautiful bedrooms to rest, and rejuvenate; the master bedroom even boasts an en-suite shower room, ideal for freshening up before dinner or getting ready for the day ahead.

The bedrooms offer new John Lewis beds and mattresses to add an element of luxury.

Dolgellau's pretty town centre is only a half mile walk down the hill, offering a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Only eight miles away are the beautiful sandy beaches of Barmouth and Fairbourne, as well as Harlech Castle, a World Heritage Site.

This Dolgellau house is also close to the renowned mountain bike centre at Coed-y-Brenin and is surrounded by landscape views, mountains, rivers, and forests, sure to excite walking enthusiasts and nature lovers. The Mawddach Trail is a spectacular walking and cycle route that winds along the disused railway track on the southern edge of the Mawddach estuary, from Dolgellau to Barmouth.

Bikes can be hired in the town at the start of the route.

The town is also home to Cymer Abbey, a 12th-century Cistercian monastery which is certainly worth visiting.

Immerse yourself in local history at King Arthur’s Labyrinth and Llanfair Slate Mines or experience more of a challenge by hiking to the summit of Snowdon.

The Falconry Experience, set in 120-acres of Welsh countryside, provides a day out for the whole family, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with a variety of birds of prey including Owls, Hawks and Bald Eagle.
