    “Thanks for another lovely week at Gelli Bach it's such a peaceful place to stay, but not too far to walk down to Llanbedr.”

    The walks in the area are fantastic and a good selection of great beaches to choose from. Very comfortable cottage with everything you need, I think our Dog is looking forward to the rest when she gets home!! Looking forward to visiting again Mick and Marie

The property

Settled within the 45 acres of private land, within the grounds of the owner's country retreat, Gelli Bach at Gelli Las is a charming, detached stone cottage for a couple's romantic retreat to North Wales.

Situated on a hill side above Llanbedr, with views of the sea, is Gelli Bach, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and is ideal for a couples seeking a romantic getaway or to explore the Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) and the beautiful western coast of Wales The property is two miles from the sea and boasts lovely sea views.

Park up in your off-road parking spot before walking 150-200 metres up to the property, taking in the quaint stone exterior before heading past the patio and into the open-plan living space, slip on your slippers.

Discover harmonious interiors and a contemporary cottage style, with a blue plush sofa to snuggle up on as you watch a film on the Smart TV.

Dine together at the cute country dining table and chairs, with a sleek navy fitted kitchen complete with everything you need to rustle up delicious dishes.

Take the white painted stairs straight up to the elegant bedroom, furnished with a beautiful king-size sleigh bed, and served by a sleek en-suite shower room, with a built-in wardrobe space for your things.

Enjoy waking up to breakfast al fresco out on the patio, or end the day here with some drinks in the last of the summer sun.

Following a day of walking or wet weather, make use of the handy external drying room, perfect for storing gear and getting things dry for the next day's activities.

Head into the village of Llanbedr to find everything you need on your stay, with the heart of the village lying around a mile away, an easy distance for a relaxing stroll to the local pub.

Enjoy walks along the nearby beaches including Harlech Beach and Shell Island, or explore the Llanfair Slate Caverns.

Venture down to Barmouth to enjoy the lovely beach and views from the hilltop above the town, with watersports available further along the beach up towards Llanaber.

The beautiful lake of Llyn Trawsfynydd is great for waterside walks as well as peaceful afternoons fishing or head to Cwm Bychan for more stunning lakeside walks.

Harlech Castle is well worth visiting and offers an amazing vantage point over the coast, while the Italianate town of Portmeirion lies further north and is bursting with fabulous architecture and picturesque streets, perfect for a day out.

Walkers can look forward to epic hiking challenges like Moelfre offering stunning views, Rhinog Fawr with it's small scenic lake, and Diffwys commanding breath-taking vistas.

Enjoy a thrilling day of mountain biking in the Coed y Brenin Forest Park or choose to explore this enchanting forest on foot.

The pretty village of Llanbedr quietly nestles in ancient woodland between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the stunning golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. Situated next to the beautiful River Artro, and boasting a mild climate due to its unusual positioning behind the high dunes of a nature reserve, this charming village has an exciting array of wildlife and birds, handy local shops, bike hire and mountain walks on your doorstep, as well as two excellent pubs. The small town of Harlech is just 3 miles away and boasts the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle, a majestic 13th century stronghold, the most impressive of all those built in North Wales by Edward I. Popular with golfers due to its famous Royal St. David's course, Harlech also boasts an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants and the most magnificent six-mile long sandy beach, perfect for wonderful walks and family fun. Nearby Barmouth offers the amazing Panorama Walk along the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, providing breathtaking vistas, which were described by John Ruskin as “the most sublime view in Europe” and also a harbour from which you can catch a ferry to Fairbourne for a ride on the miniature railway, or a boat trip out to sea to try mackerel fishing.
