“This is one of the more comfortable cottages at this price point that I have stayed in over the years.”

This is due to a combination of spaciousness, sensible seating and truly great beds: even the bunk is equipped with superbly supportive high quality mattresses. Most other aspects of the cottage are perfectly sound, with sufficient kitchen equipment, a decent sized TV and enough of the consumables like toilet paper, dishwasher tablets etc. My only criticisms relate to the bathrooms. Given that the property can accommodate six adults, the family bathroom's over-bath shower would benefit from a wall fixing and screen/curtain for it to be genuinely useful: very few people take baths these days. The separate shower does however perform well and we three guests all used this. One caveat: I do think that a bath mat would be helpful to reduce the risk of slipping. On the good to have list would be a grab handle: the danger is at present that slipping in the shower would cause someone to automatically grab the only grabbable thing present: namely the water pipe feeding the shower. Missing bath mat apart Penrallt is no exception in this regard, so this is really a criticism of a majority of cottages, but single level cottages like this will inevitably attract older customers or those with mobility issues and so addressing this would make Penrallt a genuine no-bainer: it is so good in most other respects. Finally there is the cottage's commanding position overlooking the Menai Strait, and a situation which makes it equally suited as base for Anglesey or for Snowdonia. I would not hesitate to book this cottage again.
