“Very comfortable accommodation with all amenities.”

Comfy beds, nice enclosed garden for dog, great access to the beach close by. No negatives, only positives. Only recommendations would be need of wardrobe space, especially if 6 staying. Otherwise owners on site and responsive. Would return.

“Fabulous location with stunning views both from the lounge window and conservatory / patio - we thoroughly enjoyed the proximity to both the beach ( ideal with our dog) and the village .”

It was great being able to watch the windsurfers and fighter jets from the property. An ideal location too for our walking holiday. Flip Flops was very comfortable and well equipped with lots of welcome added extras . It’s a shame that the master bedroom has only a double bed rather than king size as this is unusual these days but all in all a great stay , thank you !

“We had a house in Rhosneigr for over 50 years so knew the area well, but wanted to go back to meet up with some old friends.”

We chose Flip Flops as it was in a quiet cul de sac with a view of the sea and within easy walkiing distance of the village centre. It offered spacious 3 bedroom accommodation and we would not hesitate to book it again when we next visit Rhosneigr.

“We have stayed at Flip Flops many times over the last 10 years.”

The property is always very clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The location is stunning, being a very short walk to the beach and the village centre. The views of the beach from the Lounge and rear garden are superb. The owners live close by and ensure the cleaning is carried out to the highest standard. We stay in cottages every year around 8 times but Flip Flops is always top of our list. You will not be disappointed, highly recommended.

“We love Flip Flops.”

This is our second visit and this time we brought our dog who loved it just as much as us. The excellent facilities particularly the conservatory and outside seating area and the proximity to the beach were just as we remember. It would be lovely to have the second bathroom fitted with a shower when you have three kids spending all day in the sea, rather than using one ( very good) shower in the en suite but this is a minor quibble! The bath was still useful for the dog. Would recommend this place wholeheartedly for an unpretentious and comfortable break.

“A beautiful bungalow in a stunning ocation.”

However due to the stunning weather we were unable to enjoy the bungalow due to the heat. The living room is lovely with views to the beach but it was unbearable to sit there at anytime of the day or night. We acuually had the remote control battery replaced by the very helpful owner Chris but gave up trying to watch a movie as itcwas so uncomfortable. Sleeping was also difficult and we had to purchase gel pillows to get some relief. In an ever warming climate the need for air con is an absolute must. If this had been in place we would have given it 5 stars and would not hesitate to stay again.

“This is a lovely welcoming and homely bungalow, and the owners Gail and Chris were on hand if we needed anything.”

They provided everything we needed just the kettle was a challenge until we figured out how to use it! ;-) It is a perfect location, so close to the beach and the sea that was lovely to watch from the very comfortable living room on inclement days. The proximity to the local shops and restaurants was also a bonus, especially since we had two disabled mothers with us. We will definitely be back again, hopefully it will be a bit warmer next time so we can use our flip flops on the beach ;-)

On our arrival the property smelt clean and felt warm. It’s a great place to stay, the place feels spacious and has a great view to the sea from the garden and front living room. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking needs. We loved our complementary chocolates. Owners Chris & Gail were lovely. Our only bug bear was not having control over the heating and having to ask for it to be turned up as we were really cold at one point. Whilst the owners were obliging and turned it up for us, it wasn’t always at a comfortable level throughout our stay when we needed it. We would love to come back and spend time at Flip Flops, but not being in control of our comfort puts us off a little.

“On arriving at the property we were very disappointed to find that, I presume the owners, were actually living full time in the converted garage!”

We were well aware of their presence and could hear them using the toilet, having a shower, and talking. The internal door to the garage was locked and the bathroom and kitchen windows were obscured with curtains. It was very uncomfortable knowing that they were on the other side of an internal door or window, and was not what we expected. Rhosneigr is a beautiful place and we would definitely return, but not to this property unfortunately.

Fascinating to hear and watch the RAF Valley pilots training to defend the realm. Anglesey Golf Club less than a mile away which is very friendly.

The weather was glorious over the Bank Holiday but it was extremely busy with day trippers, only to be expected. Unfortunately due to the Covid and Brexit there are limited places to eat as staff and and food are very thin on the ground . It won’t however stop us from going again , we love it !!!

“The beach is only 1minute away.”

It is a surfers paradise. Local shop 5 minutes away. Cottage met our expectations and was very clean. Take your food shop with you as local shop very limited supplies. I have to be honest and say be prepared for the jets flying Monday to Friday from RAF Valley close by as it gets very noisy.

“Due to the pandemic we didn't know if we would be able to travel over to Anglesey until the night before.”

Throw the fact that we are also in the middle of a house move into the mix and you will understand our stress levels were through the ceiling! The journey of 2 and a half hours wasn't too bad. We'd never been to Anglesey before, nor had we ever been in a Sykes accommodation before. We really didn't know what to expect! Flip Flops was easy to find. The key safe was easy to use. I opened the front door and felt the weight of the world lift from my shoulders. It was beautiful. Clean and tidy. Everything we had wished for and more. Our pet dog Matilda was welcome and when we told the owners Chris and Gail that she didn't like walking on the kitchen floor (she has sensitive paw pads) they offered to bring a carpet runner for her. We have booked to go again next year and can't wait. The weather/pandemic and house move were forgotten for 7 blissful days. The views from front and back were to die for. If I could have changed anything I would have had a patch of false lawn near the back patio doors for Matilda as she didn't like the decking and I couldn't get her to go out back at all so we couldn't really use it either. I would fully recommend Flip Flops to all my friends and family. Thank you once again Chris and Gail for a fantastic week. It was a much needed holiday for us and we feel totally refreshed and relaxed....... now back to reality and our upcoming house move. See you next year. X

“This was our second visit to Flip Flops and we were naturally anxious about the Covid situation but the property was spotless, thanks to Chris and Gail the owners.”

The weather was kind to us so the holiday and the view was even better. I think however, I would take more groceries next time, as the shops are very limited and there are only a few restaurants/bars which have reduced their menus dramatically. See you next year !!

“The bungalow is in a great location to enjoy a really good view of the Bay from a very comfy seat in the lounge or from the sun room and patio at the back of the bungalow.”

Rhosneigr has good local facilities including convenient grocery stores, a great pub, a very handy chip shop/ takeaway and an excellent restaurant and bar in the local hotel. The bungalow provides a great base for exploring the island and we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. We’ll definitely be booking again!

“Flip Flops is beautifully presented and only a tiny walk to the beach.”

Everything we needed was to hand and the owners left a lovely little welcome surprise for us and the dogs! Some local shops appeared closed for the season but there were enough restaurants and pubs to keep us happy. We would definately return, it was a wonderful few days.

The property

Aptly named Flip Flops, is just minutes from the beach in the popular seaside village of Rhosneigr on the west coast of Anglesey.

The owners combined flair have made this a fun, bright bungalow adding all the contemporary needs for a great holiday.

The views from the sitting room and patio are fantastic, perfect for an al-fresco lunch or a cocktail watching the fantastic sunsets over the bay.

The large sitting room offers sea views, there’s a comfortable sofa, a Smart TV, books, games.

The kitchen and dining room has all the essentials including a cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster.There’s a dining table & chairs to seat up to six people.

The conservatory has more seating and provides access to the rear patio area.

Flip Flops has three bedrooms.

One master double with ensuite containing a shower, loo and wash hand basin as well as bathrobes and slippers.

There’s a twin room and a bunk room, too.

The family bathroom has a bath, loo and wash hand basin.

We’ve added a fantastic new Games Room at Flip Flops, perfect for keeping the youngsters entertained and adding to the overall experience of your stay.

Whether they want to hang out, play games, or unwind with a movie, this space provides a fun retreat, especially on rainy days. The Smart TV offers countless films and programs, and guests are welcome to bring their own games consoles to connect and play!

Llangefni 12 miles; Trearddur Bay 12 miles; Holyhead 13 miles.

The popular seaside village of Rhosneigr is situated on the beautiful west coast of Anglesey, famous for its spectacular cliffs and magnificent sandy beaches. The village has a varied history including a 6th century church, tales of smugglers, famous off-shore shipwrecks and from the Edwardian era it has been a fashionable holiday destination. Today it is known for its magnificent beaches and renowned watersports, providing some of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing in the UK, with tuition available in the village. Activities include fishing, sailing, sand yachting, wreck diving, golf and hours of family fun on the enormous sandy beaches. There are several pubs, restaurants and shops in the village, with the market towns of Llangefni and Holyhead (starting point for day trips to Dublin), and the city of Bangor within easy travelling distance. Rhosneigr is located near to RAF Valley, famed For Prince William's Air Sea Rescue training base. Alsolose by is the Anglesey Race Circuit, great for lovers or car and motorbike racing, while on the island you will find Pili Palas Butterfly Farm, Anglesey Sea Zoo and Beaumaris Castle. Boat trips around Puffin Island offer the chance to see nesting puffins and guillemots, or cross to the mainland and enjoy Victorian Llandudno’s shopping, restaurants and dry ski slope, Snowdonia mountains and the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula.
