“Rhosneigr is a great location with a very good beach within seconds and minutes from the door; and an excellent base to tour Angelsey.”
The cottage was ok - but very overpriced for what was provided. Would like to thank the owners for the Welcome Pack. However, although it did meet expectations as said above it was a late booking and Crows Nest was only one of a few properties across all rental sites for Angelsey that was left so grabbed it, and on that basis didn't expect too much of it. I know not listed as having any views Crows Nest, despite its name, does not have any views at all - in fact Fish Bowl would be more acurate as it is overlooked from all angels, and with no blinds or nets to offer any privacy we kept the curtains drawn all week - luckily we were out most of the time and it gets dark around 7, so we managed. Guest Information Book was basic; eg does not mention how to operate the central heating system - apart from the bathroom towel rails which were very good - it was chilly in the evenings and first thing so all we had was the noisy fire which drowned out the TV so we often turned that off and snuggled up in our car blankets. The TV instructions given on the TV unit are opposite to that given in the GIBook using 2 remote controls so very frustrating as it kept switching off - I would have given up and read my book but hubby persisted and chanced random success; we had what we had. The double bed downstairs was comfortable offering good sleep quality, but smells of age. Crows Nest is in need of complete refurbishment; damp damage in the hall ceiling as a welcome was a real put off, caused by the upstairs shower which due to its position opposite the shower door just pours out onto the floor when first switched on and walking in despite lowering the shower head, and from the misaligned broken seal as it runs down the door and straight onto the floor, nothing we could do to stop it. Some table lamps not working and much of the furniture is old and grubby, lounge suite included, faded mouldy curtains all causing the smell of age - didn't want to use the chest of drawers (even the paper linings were old) our clothes would have smelt the same. Kitchen good, but cupboards packed with unnecessary old unusable inventory that you are expected to rummage through as just rammed in - crockery good though and thankfully found a very good frying pan at the bottom of the pile. My comments are based on personal expectations of any holiday accommodation and as a former holiday accommodation provider so I know what is both expected of guests and possible to provide. Would return to Rhosneigr but would not return nor recommend Crows Nest unless improved.
