“Abermor was perfect for an extended family holiday.”

Spacious, clean and well equipped. The location was perfect too, a short walk to the village, an excellent village shop and a choice of places to eat. My daughter would particularly like us to mention what a helpful and friendly neighbour we had.

“This was an excellent property on the edge of the village with views over the countryside to the side and views to the sea over the houses to the front.”

Ample parking at the front of the house and although the property is all on one level the steps up to the front door may be a problem for people with mobility issues ( this is pointed out in the property description, full marks for that) The house itself is bright, comfortable and well equipped and well positioned for local walks (there is an interesting ancient settlement 2km or so walk and also access to the coastal path is quick and easy. The local fish and chip shop was excellent and within walking distance. We also had a lovely lunch at Ann’s Pantry and the village shop was most helpful with our request for logs. There was a problem with water/heating which was dealt with promptly with phone access to the owner. Thank you

“Myself and my husband very much enjoyed our stay at Abermor.”

The house is spacious, well equipped and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. It is only a short walk to the centre of Moelfre, where we enjoyed coastal walks, and great food at Ann's Pantry, the Kimnel Arms and the chip shop. The owner was very helpful when I rang him with a few questions prior to our trip. I would recommend Abermor as a place to stay.

“We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abermor, 4 adults and 3 children.”

The bungalow is very well equipped with all that you might need and is very comfortable. We settled in very quickly and it felt like home. There’s also a lovely enclosed garden at the back, with benches and picnic table, plus a lawn at the front. Many games and children’s books are also on hand. We didn’t want to leave it was wonderful. Highly recommended, five stars.

“Generally a good spacious, comfortable bungalow.”

The property could do with some updating of furnishings and decorations. Some kitchen items should be replaced (chipped mugs, well worn cooking pans for example). A dripping kitchen tap needed to be mended. The information booklet has very old, out of date material.

“We were pleasantly surprised with the size and the layout of the property.”

It is always hard to tell from photos. It was in a good location with lovely views all around. The kitchen was well stocked with a good selection of glassware and crockery and even had a wine fridge. The shower room and bathroom looked like they had recently been refitted to a high standard. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and three of the four had hanging space/ wardrobes for clothes, with one of the bedrooms having limited storage space but having a television. The beds were extremely comfortable. It was nice to come back in the evening to a log fire, for which the owner had left a starter kit - thanks. We had several communications with the owner who was very quick to respond to my queries - thanks. We would highly recommend this property and would consider staying there again in the future.

This was our fourth visit and the whole family came this time - there were 7 of us including 2 grandchildren and everybody enjoyed the week in Moelfre. We love having the log burner which makes it really cosy and relaxing in the evening after some long walks during the day.

Our first family holiday since lockdown and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This time we were able to enjoy the garden area with our 3yr old grandson. We always choose Moelfre for its locality and beautiful harbour and coastal walk right on the doorstep. Dave the owner is only a phone call away if there are any issues he is always happy to assist. “Being the first occupants for 7 months, everything was fine and we appreciated use of the garage at the front for storing our bikes and beach-type stuff rather than keeping it in the cars or in the foyer.”

The beds were most comfortable and there was plenty of comfortable room space for our three adults and two boys, in what they called their 'holiday house'. Nearby facilities were all very convenient and more shops and takeaways are also available 10 mins away at Benllech. Great beaches all around plus interesting Neolithic sites within walking and cycling distance.

“Abermor is a lovely holiday home.”

I would say it needed locks on bathroom doors though for that little bit extra privacy (high up locks so children can't reach). It is in a nice area quite central to get to everywhere. I did try to purchase the breakage insurance but unfortunately did it on the day we arrived, so you would not accept it, which I suppose was fair enough. Other than that I find Sykes Holidays a good place to start looking for you next holiday. Many thanks.

not just the 8 of everything as this was the number the cottage accommodated. Bathrooms & showers were great and it was a very comfortable home from home. The only improvement I can suggest is a little more storage for the bedrooms but all in all had a lovely week

Three generations of the family all enjoyed a quiet and peaceful week with coastal and country walks, Good food at local pubs and restaurants. The one next door and the Ship inn at Red Wharf Bay are particular favourites. It is definitely somewhere we would like to return to.

“Facilities and rooms could not have been better !”

One tiny point, would have welcomed some small shot glasses and some smaller tumbler glasses, say 6 of each. Found the front steps difficult because the handrail does not go down to the drive, and that first step is rather high. yes i know there is a ramp too. We found an excellent place for Sunday Lunch - not cheap but well worth the money - Lastra Farm, but you must book. The attention to detail and the quality of the food was superb. Plenty of attractions to visit. I enjoyed the Moelfre Life Boat museum, and of course we all enjoyed the fish and chip shop, but go easy on the chips, enough to feed the next cottage too ! For a garden centre, Holland Arms was great, and their afternoon teas too. Really enjoyed the Pili Palas Nature World - not a big zoo by any means but excellent for what it was and great coffee too. And some of us managed to see a red squirrel - on the last day, in the Newborough Forest, a lovely quiet place to visit but the boardwalk was too difficult for a wheelchair. The Plas Newydd gardens, well more grounds than gardens, were no joy with the chair either, uphill/downhill and on gravel. Shame we were too late in the season to get a boat ride through the Menai Straits but mum had a paddle in the sea ! It was a lovely place to spend a week.

The property

This light and airy, detached cottage is in the village of Moelfre, on the Island of Anglesey.

Careful thought has been put into the styling and design of this lovely cottage to produce a delightful coastal base with homely touches throughout, perfect for a family holiday.

There are six steps leading up to the front door, and there are two small steps at the rear.

Entering through the porch into the hallway, you will find a modern kitchen/diner to your left with fabulous sea and country views to two sides.

There is a door leading through to a spacious utility room and into a family bathroom with bath and shower over, warmed by underfloor heating.

There are four stylish and welcoming bedrooms furnished with two twin beds and two king-size double beds, along with a further family shower room.

The sitting room is spacious and homely, and benefits from a bay window enjoying views towards the sea, along with a feature slate hearth behind the warming woodburner.

Located in an elevated position at the entrance to the village, this pleasant seaside cottage has delightful views over countryside to Porth Moelfre and the Irish Sea beyond.

The gardens are private to the rear, with lawn and patio to provide great areas for alfresco dining, whilst the children can play in safety.

In the surrounding area there is so much to do, with the delights of the Anglesey Coastal Path running through the village, opening up access to nearby Red Wharf Bay in one direction and the gorgeous sandy beach of Lligwy in the other.

Further afield, there are many more attractions, such as the award-winning Lifeboat Museum and Seawatch Centre in the village, the Copper Kingdom in nearby Amlwch, and the ever-popular Beaumaris Castle.

Whether it's an invigorating walking holiday, exciting days out exploring Anglesey, or just a great family beach holiday, this is the perfect holiday cottage for you to enjoy.

Situated on the beautiful east coast of Anglesey, Moelfre is a delightful seaside village, boasting little cottages, a picturesque port, a beach, fine views of Snowdonia, a working lifeboat, and two quality pubs/restaurants.
