    “Needs a thorough clean!”

Bathroom and kitchen were ok, but kettle and toaster dirty on the outside. Ceiling light shade in bedroom very dusty-could be seen from lying in bed. Radio in living room not working and sticky to touch. Bathroom light goes out intermittently so had several showers in the dark. Heater in living room works well although had to hunt for manual to turn up the setting as cold otherwise. It would be nice if the owner had a welcome folder with information on the property such as heater instructions, Wi-Fi code , nearest supermarket, petrol station, local walks of interest from the property etc. From previous reviews we knew it wouldn’t be spotless and we chose it based on location for the places we wished to visit, around Anglesey and north Wales, and for its quirky character as somewhere different to stay.

Dear Mr B, I am sorry you were unhappy with your accommodation. I have very few negative comments from guests hence my disappointment. You should have reported your issues and we would have most certainly put things right. The heaters are really straightforward and rather than clutter we keep in the filing cabinet drawer. I could have so easily changed the light bulb in the bathroom ( there are 2 lights there, Its a small bathroom ? did you not think of using the light above sink rather than shower in the dark ? When I am next there I will pay more attention to detail to avoid disappointment. Normally Sue and Simon are extremely helpful in advising guests as to great places to visit as mentioned on numerous occasions in the guest info book. I am more than happy to discuss your issues 00000000 please call me ! I do hope there were aspects of your holiday you enjoyed ? regards Property Owner

The property

Little Hawthorn is a converted 18th Century grain loft and the owners have shown great sympathy in reflecting its history.

Care has been taken not to over restore and much pleasure derived from the idiosyncrasies of the house.

The eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary creates a comfortable yet interesting environment. From the high street, double gates open along a carriageway, still part cobbled, to a slate flagged yard.

The yard and outbuildings below are filled with vintage collectables and memorabilia which may prove hard to resist for any visitor! "Vera, the owner, really should be given an award for the work she has done in Menai Bridge and Little Hawthorn is another of her little gems.

It is quirky, fun and right in the centre of the town." The apartment entrance is at the top of a flight of stone steps, close to cafes, restaurants, artisan traders as well as a Waitrose at the top of the hill.

Menai Bridge town itself is steeped in history and within a short walk is the Menai Strait and Telford's magnificent suspension bridge. This holiday apartment is an ideal base for exploring Anglesey, as well as the mainland in North Wales, accommodating the needs of both the town and country enthusiast.

It is indeed a little gem, a truly bohemian experience.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
