“What a beautiful little cottage and lovely surroundings, with the most friendly and lovely hosts.”

Everything you need is in the cottage. The log burner even set up and ready to go for you, for those chillier evenings. WiFi available and there's even have Netflix on the TV. Everything is so comfortable and cosy. I will set out my one and only warning though (for those of a taller stature)... The mezzanine bedroom has a very low ceiling (which was to be expected though, so we managed) but the bed was ever so comfortable. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in the ...

The mezzanine bedroom has a very low ceiling (which was to be expected though, so we managed) but the bed was ever so comfortable. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area. Loads to do in the local areas, but all tourist attractions and towns within half an hour's drive or less.

The property

This cosy and pretty stone-built, detached barn conversion is situated next to the owners’ home, near the small hamlet of Deiniolen, four miles from Llanberis.

Surrounded by some wonderful scenic countryside on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, this delightful cottage offers an ideal base for couples who love the outdoors with walks in abundance.

Celyn Farm Cottage has wonderful charm and appeal combined with character attributes, such as whitewashed stone walls and exposed beams.

The living accommodation is open plan with the sitting area enjoying a high-pitched ceiling with exposed purlins and timbers extenuating the feeling of space.

The warm and welcoming woodburning stove, with a most unusual log basket, provides a relaxing atmosphere in cooler months and is a perfect place to curl up together and watch a favourite film.

There is also the useful added benefit of a pulleymaid above the woodburner where you can dry ample amounts of clothing after days out and about.

The kitchen is fresh and modern with and a Belfast sink and there is small but functional shower room tucked in just off the kitchen.

Upstairs the crog loft provides you with a quirky bedroom with sloping ceilings, restricted head height, low level double bed and a great view over the sitting area.

Outside there is a courtyard with seating to take in the wonderful views where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee.

There are superb walks and cycle trails all around, which offer stunning mountain and coastal views, including those that lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir and the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr.

Lanberis is four miles away where you can enjoy the Lake Railway which runs alongside the banks of Llyn Padarn, whilst Llanberis itself has shops, pubs and restaurants, and is the gateway to the stunning Mount Snowdon.

This lovely cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Snowdonia National Park and beyond all year round.

About the location

DEINIOLEN

Llanberis 4 miles; Caernarfon 8 miles; Bangor 8 miles.

The village of Deiniolen, housing a village pub and shop, is 4 miles north of Llanberis, on the border of the Snowdonia National Park, making it an ideal base to explore the National Park. The Llanberis Railway runs nearby along the banks of Lake Padarn, whilst the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle are 2 miles away, or visit Ceunant Mawr, a cascading waterfall just outside Llanberis. Local walks lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir on the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Llanberis is 4 miles away and is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a “mecca” for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. On the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd.
