    “We enjoyed a wonderful week on Anglesey staying in this house and we where very lucky to have fine sunny weather.”

    We were celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary and this break was just the way to do it. The house was comfortable, well equipped with everything you could wish for, and marvelous views of the straits and Snowdonia from the living room and bedrooms. It was in a convenient situation to start exploring both Anglesy and parts of North Wales such as Bangor Pier and Penrhyn Castle. In the evening we often went down to the little quayside hotel a short walk or drive, the Gazelle Hotel, to either ...

It was in a convenient situation to start exploring both Anglesy and parts of North Wales such as Bangor Pier and Penrhyn Castle. In the evening we often went down to the little quayside hotel a short walk or drive, the Gazelle Hotel, to either enjoy a drink on the quayside or a lovely supper in the dining room overlooking the straits. There were many walks, suggestions and useful information left for our use by the owner, and we actually added a couple to his folder,

The property

This well-presented holiday cottage is set back from the main road into the town of Menai Bridge and enjoys superb views of the sea.

Suitable for a gathering with friends and family, Mews Cottage boasts a stylish and comfortable interior to relax in after a day at the beach or wandering the picturesque landscapes of the Snowdonia National Park.

The open-plan living area is comprised of a well-equipped kitchen with all the necessary appliances for a week-long break, a spacious sitting area for those evenings on the sofa and a dining table.

Patio doors lead out to the enclosed courtyard, perfect for alfresco dining or to just enjoy a few moments in the sun.

There are three bedrooms at this Menai Bridge cottage, including a double with en-suite shower and a two twins, with one on the first floor and the other on the second floor in a dormer style bedroom.

Within a short walk is the Menai Strait and Telford’s suspension bridge where you can access mainland Wales.

Menai Bridge town itself acts as a superb holiday base with a number of independent shops and supermarkets to browse, as well as offering a whole host of pubs and restaurants for your indulgence.

The town of Beaumaris, the city of Bangor and the sandy Benllech beach resort are all within a 20-minute drive.

Alternatively, explore the Snowdonia National Park and enjoy a network of footpaths and cycle trails amidst some outstanding scenery.

MENAI BRIDGE

Llanfairpwllgwyngyll 2 miles; Bangor 2.5 miles; Beaumaris 4.5 miles; Caernarfon 8 miles

This delightful town sits right on the edge of the Isle of Anglesey and is home to one of two bridges to mainland Wales. It is an ideal base for a holiday and is great for exploring this beautiful island. It has a strong history which can be discovered in the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, the well known Saint Tysilio lived on Church Island, just off of Anglesey in the 7th century, hence the name of the 15th century St. Tysilio's Church. Menai Bridge itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. In terms of entertainment, this is an ideal spot with something for everybody, there is the butterfly palace 'Pili Palas' which is incredibly popular with families, as well as the astounding Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens well worth a walk around. The Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance for you outdoor enthusiasts, it has wonderful walking, cycling and opportunities to see some beautiful sights. Nearer to the town, there are some incredible places including the popular towns of Beaumaris and Caernarfon with their majestic castles and much more to do.
