“We had a lovely holiday at Y Felin.”

Received a very warm welcome from the hosts on arrival and the cottage itself had everything we needed. Perfectly situated for exploring much of North Wales and Snowdonia and the views from the kitchen window and front door were stunning, especially on a sunny morning. We didn't want to leave! Highly recommend The Goat Inn on the A487, Penrhyn Castle and Gardens and a drive down the A4086 past Llanberis and through the mountains.

Received a very warm welcome from the hosts on arrival and the cottage itself had everything we needed. “Another wonderful stay at this lovely cottage, a comfortable home from home with stunning views at the back.”

If you want to stay somewhere to relax and unwind this is the place. Kathie goes out of her way too make you feel welcome. The cottage has everything you need and is situated close to Snowdonia, Anglesey and the Llyn peninsula with lots of places to visit. Have already booked again for next year.

The setting is beautiful with views of the mountains, and so quiet at night. My only suggestion would be a black out blind in the bedroom window as summer mornings are so bright and early for those that like to sleep in.

“It would be extremely difficult to find anything to fault with this property.”

The owners are very welcoming and friendly, when we arrived we was met by Martin who welcomed us, showed us around and told us about the property. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with every utensil you will need, all the utensils and cooking equipment is of a high quality, the shower is amazing and the bed is comfy. The living area is cosy, the tv has Netflix etc. you can’t really ask for much more to be honest. We had a lovely stay and would absolutely recommend this to anybody.

“We have stayed in many Sykes properties over the years, and Y Felin was one of the best.”

The cottage is a beautifully converted granary, on a farm, with a “bee theme” in the decor, in keeping with the farm’s beekeeping. It was very clean, adequately equipped, and had good Wi-Fi connectivity. The walk-in shower was excellent. Kathy and Mark, the owners, were very friendly and ready to help should a problem arise. We enjoyed a lovely week.

The Granary was roomy enough for me to get around on a knee scooter with ease. The views from every window were superb. The location and views are stunning and the hosts are welcoming. We both loved this property and had a great stay, however sadly the only element we struggled with was the quality of the spring mattress, it doesn’t detract from the overall property but did affect the quality of our sleep.

“Y Felin is so spacious for two people, it was great to have room to move.”

Decorated to a high standard & ideally situated for mountains/castles. The layout of Y Felin has been well thought out to provide a homely feel with suitable furnishings for the rooms. We enjoyed watching the sheep and lovely views from the property. Plenty of walking and a good property to stay if you don’t like narrow lanes! Hosts were friendly without being intrusive. A short drive from the royal town of Caernarfon, Gwynedd and surrounded by a wealth of history and luscious countryside is this beautifully appointed barn conversion, Y Felin (The Granary).

Enjoying the benefits of its own designated parking space, panoramic rural views and a private patio, Y Felin (The Granary) is an idyllic escape for a couple wishing to visit this part of Wales.

Make your way inside to be welcomed by an open-plan living space and feel the warmth of the underfloor heating on your toes.

Here you will find the stylish, U-shaped kitchen, a space boasting blue units hosting integrated appliances and an adjoining breakfast bar, where you can savour a romantic meal together.

As the evening draws in curl up with your loved one on the plush sofa, whilst you recount the day's adventures, sip a glass of wine and catch up with your favourite programmes on the Smart TV.

In the warmer months, venture out to the patio for a spot of alfresco dining cooked on the built in barbecue, with the amazing backdrop of Snowdonia in the distance.

When sleep calls, continue to the king-size bedroom, where you can also find a stylish en-suite shower room to wash away the day.

Caernarfon (county town of Gwynedd) has much historic and cultural importance in North Wales. It is a popular tourist spot with its impressive 13th Century castle, well preserved town walls and delightful water front. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery, the village of Beddgelert and onto Porthmadog. Fishing trips are available from the harbour and another attraction within walking distance of the town centre is Segontium, a Roman fort and museum, housing many important finds. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and is close to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of Snowdonia, including the renowned mountaineering town of Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon.
