“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Preswylfa.”

Lovely surprise to find bottle of wine and After Eights on arrival, as well as the essentials for our first morning. Perfectly situated within 10 minute walk of the main town with plenty of choice in eateries. Very quiet area despite being close to the centre.

The property

Occupying the lower ground floor of a semi detached Victorian property near the town centre of Caernarfon, North Wales, this pleasant self-catering coastal apartment is located in an elevated position and enjoys views extending over the rooftops towards the Menai Strait and countryside beyond.

The apartment offers comfortable, clean and practical accommodation, and is nicely styled to provide an ideal base for couples, friends or a small family.

Enter through the conservatory which provides seating and a wonderful vantage point from which to relax and enjoy the lovely views.

The sitting room is light and bright with comfy seating and a dining area for that leisurely breakfast to set you up for the day ahead.

The kitchen is compact but well-equipped and provides everything you will need during your stay.

The two bedrooms are comfortable, and both rooms boast double beds and en-suite facilities.

Outside, a lovely decked area offers a nice place to sit and enjoy the views, with a chilled glass of something in the evening or an early morning cuppa.

Just a short walk away from the apartment is the majestic Caernarfon Castle, well worth a visit, and the harbour is a great place for many locals and holidaymakers wishing to spend the day angling or crabbing.

If you're looking for a meal out why not take a 5 minute stroll away from the property to the Celtic Royal Hotel, which offers an array of wonderful meals.

The Welsh Highland & Ffestiniog steam railway has a station here and is well worth putting a day to one side to travel the two hours, through some breathtaking scenery to the harbour town of Porthmadog; a shorter trip takes you to Beddgelert, where you can visit the grave of Gelert, the faithful hound of legend.

Within fifteen minutes’ drive you will find the foothills of Snowdonia, from here you can access footpaths to the very summit of Mount Snowdon, or a mountain railway offers the chance to travel in comfort from nearby Llanberis.

Anglesey is a short distance away and the Menai Strait provides a variety of water activities from RIB rides to dinghy sailing.

This self-catering apartment is ideal as a base for exploring the area all year round.
