The property

Resting in the lovely coastal town of Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey is this traditional fisherman's cottage, Angorfa.

Hosting three bedrooms, one of which lies on the ground floor, Angorfa is perfect for a family or group of six seeking a seaside setting for their holiday to Wales.

Discover first the homely snug room at the front of this mid-terrace house, where a woodburning stove can roar in the background as you watch your favourite shows or films on the TV from the comfort of the plush sofas.

Head along the hall to the rear to relax in the open-plan living space with a lovely kitchen area boasting a gas range cooker, sure to assist you well with all of your self-catering, and an open wall overlooking the sitting and dining areas, perfect for keeping the chef in the conversation!

Make yourself at home on the plush seating after a delicious meal around the dining table, or head out of the patio doors in summer and delight in lounging in the large garden with a patio and a lawn reached via six stone steps.

The ground floor is also home to a handy utility/cloakroom complete with a washing machine and a WC and basin.

Opposite the utility is the charming ground-floor double bedroom, whilst heading up to the first floor will bring you to the lovely twin room and the master double bedroom boasting its own fabulous balcony overlooking the garden and enjoying views to the North Wales coastline.

Freshen up in either of two bathrooms, with a shower room with a walk-in shower and a bathroom with a bath, perfect for a relaxing soak at the end of a busy day!

The location of Angorfa means you can explore the lovely town of Beaumaris on foot, with everything just an easy stroll away; discover a handful of excellent pubs to visit, along with local shops and cafés.

Walk along the sea front and perch on a bench with some fish and chips before heading out on an exciting trip with Seacoast Safaris taking you on a Puffin Island boat trip to see the amazing bird sanctuary and nesting site for a host of seabirds, and if you're lucky you might spot a porpoise or a dolphin!

Discover the history of Beaumaris in the Beaumaris Gaol, a Victorian prison now a museum, as well as Beaumaris Castle known as the greatest castle never built due to the building of the structure petering out in the 13th century.

Enjoy a walk along the coast passing the ruins of Castell Aberlleiniog and up to the village of Penmon to find Penmon Priory and St Seiriol's Well, along with fantastic views of Puffin Island and the Great Orme.

For a glorious summer beach day, head up to the beach at Benllech where you'll find golden sand and clear blue waters, perfect for swimming and paddling with the low tide providing miles of beach to play on.

Further up the coast in Moelfre you can find a rocky beach while Lligwy Beach in Rhos Lligwy is a quieter yet large sandy stretch sheltered by the surrounding headland.

Enjoy a lovely trip to Pili Palas Nature World and delight in wandering around the Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens for an afternoon, with plenty more attractions to be found within easy reach on the mainland, including the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, Bangor and Caernarfon.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
